00:02:08 Aaron Did you want me to read this as a state?
00:02:13 Aaron You want me to read our recap?
00:02:16 GM Um, sure.
00:02:18 Aaron Did you have one ready?
00:02:19 GM No. I was going to ad-lib.
00:02:22 Aaron Well, you can, you can give color after, too.
00:02:25 Aaron The journey began in the bustling port of Crescentia, where a unique crew boarded the LS Dianoga after inheriting the vessel. A holographic probate hearing revealed that the late Captain Gordon, who had suddenly fallen ill and passed away, assigned his family tomb and mineral rights to his cousin Damian.
00:02:43 GM Family tomb? Did that say? I think that came out of nowhere.
00:02:49 Aaron We can correct the record on that one.
00:02:51 Aaron And mineral rights to his cousin Damian, but left the ship and its business contracts directly to his crew. Along with the ship, they inherited the captain's extensive filing cabinets containing notes on the alleged survival of Treasure Planet and the mysterious Solnek Empire's intergalactic travel capabilities. The mourning crew consisted of Fletcher Morrow, who found comfort in co-owning the ship, and Hazel Treerton, an Ewok-sized flying squirrel humanoid trying hard to keep her composure. They were joined by the navigation bot E.R.N.E., the six-armed Ardanian named Nul Konn, the hover-around-bound Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey, and Elaine, an ethereal, partially incorporeal space angel. While traveling through the Ether, the crew settled into their routines. Fletcher and Hazel searched the late captain's quarters and found Signian whiskey to toast to their former captain, while Nul Konn rigged climbing ropes throughout the ship. Duty soon called when E.R.N.E. received an under-the-table salvage request from a contact within the Ministry, with whom the crew held a long-standing monthly retainer contract. The destination was Dragon's Nest, an uninhabited, mathematically random meteor cloud formation. Archibald solved the astrogian equations and the ship set course. Upon arrival, the crew connected their airlock tunnel to the aft loading dock of a wrecked freighter, whose original crew had already been rescued by the Ministry, leaving the cargo behind. Inside the wrecked freighter, Hazel and Nul Konn immediately heard the whirring of servos. Fletcher pinpointed the mechanical noises, identifying four hostile Mechanical Guard Dogs and one massive Giant Security Construct hiding behind the stacked crates. E.R.N.E. sneaked forward with a vibro-dagger, while Fletcher drew a hardlight sword to the nearest metallic beast. I don't think hardlight sword was right.
00:04:45 GM I think it is.
00:04:46 Aaron Is it? Okay.
00:04:47 GM Yeah.
00:04:48 Aaron Though Hazel tried to distract the defender with a whistle sound, the mechanical dog fled further into the back room, prompting an opportunity attack from Fletcher.
00:04:57 GM This might be a little detailed.
00:04:59 Aaron Yeah, I'm going to show the next one.
00:05:01 Aaron A chaotic battle erupted in the cargo hold. Nul Konn scaled the crates to strike the massive construct, using defensive skills to block block its counter-slam. E.R.N.E. entered a rage and unleashed a third-level shatter... blah, blah, blah. Here, I'll do a different, I think this one is better.
00:05:19 Aaron When we last left our heroes, the newly inherited LS Dianoga carried its motley crew to the treacherous meteor field, Dragon's Nest, on a mysterious Ministry salvage contract. But they are far from alone in the wrecked freighter's hold. Fletcher Morrow's sharp ears have pinpointed a pack of Mechanical Guard Dogs and a massive, hulking security construct lurking in the dark. With Nul Konn locked in close quarters melee and Hazel Treerton blanketing the colossal machine in magical darkness, the crew is in the fight of their lives as blasters fire and the ether-faring heroes close ranks. Can they survive this automated defense system and claim their prize, or will they join the wreckage of the Dragon's Nest?
00:05:54 Aaron That's the version I should have read.
00:05:56 GM Yeah.
00:05:57 Cate Is this, um, based on the auditory?
00:06:00 Aaron 100%, yeah.
00:06:01 Cate It cannot distinguish between me and Elaine.
00:06:04 GM Uh, in part because Elaine's name is...
00:06:07 Aaron Right. It didn't include Elaine's existence at all the first time through.
00:06:11 GM Yeah, because she doesn't have a name.
00:06:13 Aaron Yeah, so it probably tried to guestimate that.
00:06:15 Cate Hey, Mama doggo.
00:06:17 GM Mama doggo?
00:06:20 GM Mama doggo at home.
00:06:22 Aaron No, just the doggo at home.
00:06:24 GM Oh, dirty baby chins.
00:06:29 GM So, where we stand immediately now...
00:06:33 GM ...is...
00:06:36 GM ...that...
00:06:37 GM ...in the room with you...
00:06:39 GM ...well, I'll wait till Robin comes up for air.
00:06:43 Robin I'm, I'm listening while I work. Listening while I work.
00:06:54 GM In the room with you is the mechanically large... or sorry, yeah, mechanically large, mechanical, humanoid-shaped robot thingy with whirring servos and just a massive stance at like, I don't know, 12 feet or something. This guy's big, maybe okay, nine feet. And...
00:07:20 GM ...I would say you see it, but you don't because it is shrouded in the darkness spell which Hazel cast. And also inside that are the Professor and Nul, who are also standing in a puddle of grease created by the guard robot thing.
00:07:49 GM This is a not small, not huge, cargo hold, 30 feet, or what? No. 40 feet by 60 feet. And beyond it lies more of the ship, this towards me, which is where the four mechanical dogs fled when someone cast... fear? Something?
00:08:13 Cate Noise.
00:08:14 GM Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Based on the 3rd level. Uh, to confuse them. And you haven't seen anything of them since they went through that door.
00:08:29 GM And the last thing you see is a pulse of mysterious energy emanated through the ship, which knocks E.R.N.E. out.
00:08:44 Cate Oh no, no E.R.N.E.!
00:08:47 GM He'll make it.
00:08:50 GM Robin?
00:08:52 Robin Yes.
00:08:53 GM Would you like to, uh, roll initiative?
00:08:55 Robin Sure.
00:09:00 GM We are conveniently at the top of the round.
00:09:02 Robin I'm building this plane in midair. Hey! Well, that's a nat 20. So, I go now.
00:09:11 GM Nice.
00:09:12 Robin Um, I don't know what my initiative bonus is. I don't have it written down yet.
00:09:15 GM Is it greater than two?
00:09:17 Robin Certainly.
00:09:18 GM Or oh, but is it greater than six?
00:09:20 Robin That I'm not sure. Okay.
00:09:24 GM Because Nul is at initiative 26.
00:09:27 Robin Oh, remind me. Like, that's...
00:09:28 GM Dex.
00:09:29 Robin It's just Dex? Okay, so then 24.
00:09:32 GM Okay.
00:09:33 GM Nul is first to act.
00:09:39 Aaron Okay.
00:09:40 Aaron Uh, you are currently in darkness?
00:09:41 GM Yeah.
00:09:42 Aaron But you are in melee range of the baddie.
00:09:45 Aaron Is there any penalty to attempting to attack?
00:09:50 GM I believe you roll with disadvantage.
00:09:53 Cate Does darkvision...
00:09:55 Cate ...pierce darkness?
00:09:56 GM It's an enhanced darkness, so I don't believe darkvision helps us.
00:10:00 GM Correct.
00:10:01 Elayne Am I allowed to use my...
00:10:02 GM Oh, yeah, you can.
00:10:03 Elayne It's, sorry, it's what?
00:10:04 Aaron Yes.
00:10:05 Aaron Uh, no, that's a, it requires a...
00:10:07 Aaron I think the darkness is a...
00:10:12 Aaron ...that just affects you, right? There's no like save that you're rolling?
00:10:15 GM Correct, yeah.
00:10:17 GM There essentially is no visible light in this area.
00:10:20 Aaron Elaine has a thing that allows her to, um, when, when she casts a spell that requires a saving throw, she can spend additional points to exclude people.
00:10:31 GM Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:10:32 Aaron But I don't think she can exclude us from darkness.
00:10:36 GM Correct. Um, so this is magical darkness. If you have blind vision, then you can see through it. Do you all have blind vision?
00:10:47 Aaron Um, I...
00:10:48 Aaron I used to have blind vision, but I traded it for a different feat.
00:10:50 GM Foresight?
00:10:51 Aaron Foresight is different.
00:10:52 GM Yeah, I would think they probably don't.
00:10:55 GM Are you stuck, bud?
00:10:56 Aaron Mm-hmm.
00:11:08 GM Okay.
00:11:09 GM So, Nul, it is your turn.
00:11:10 Aaron Yeah.
00:11:11 Aaron Um...
00:11:30 Aaron Right. I think I'm just going to go ahead and do a dual attack. So, it's with disadvantage, correct?
00:11:36 GM Uh, yeah.
00:11:37 Aaron Give me a second 20.
00:11:38 GM Sure.
00:11:46 Aaron That one is definitely not going to hit, I'm going to assume. Um, plus five is a 10 to hit.
00:11:53 GM Does not hit.
00:11:54 Aaron Yeah.
00:11:55 Aaron And then I'll do...
00:11:56 GM So you're just whiffing, just whiffing in the dark with your...
00:12:03 Nul Konn (Aaron) That's much better.
00:12:04 Nul Konn (Aaron) That's a 20 to hit?
00:12:06 GM Yeah, that hits.
00:12:07 Nul Konn (Aaron) Okay. So, I will hit. I'm going to forgo my sneak attack damage on him to roll two sneak dice.
00:12:27 Nul Konn (Aaron) And it will... uh, targeting to make a Charisma saving throw.
00:12:35 GM Okay. This guy's not that charismatic.
00:12:41 GM Seeing as he's a robot and you have not heard the robot talk.
00:12:48 Nul Konn (Aaron) I think my sneak attack is a D6.
00:12:50 GM Uh, that's a 10.
00:12:52 Nul Konn (Aaron) Okay, that's a fail. Um, my sneak attack is a D6, I believe. I roll two of these. It's a one. That's a three.
00:13:04 Nul Konn (Aaron) So I will get 3 + 3 AC against his first strike against me. Um, he will take a D8.
00:13:19 Nul Konn (Aaron) So 3 + 5 is 8 damage.
00:13:21 GM Okay. Eight total.
00:13:24 GM You have dealt a nice amount of damage to him.
00:13:31 Nul Konn (Aaron) And then I'm going to move away, because I get to... Since I've dealt damage, I get to disengage.
00:13:37 GM Uh, give me a Dexterity save. Um, let me double check. Actually...
00:13:50 GM Oh, no, no. Sorry. Never mind. You may move.
00:14:07 Nul Konn (Aaron) One, two, three. He doesn't get one. Okay.
00:14:14 Nul Konn (Aaron) Uh, just to get out of darkness. That's... That's 20 feet of movement.
00:14:20 GM Yeah, 20 feet of movement.
00:14:21 Nul Konn (Aaron) And then, 25, 30. Yes?
00:14:29 GM Yeah.
00:14:31 Nul Konn (Aaron) So I can't go up onto this box.
00:14:33 GM Yeah, you had to move through, um, eight spaces to do that, but that's fine.
00:14:40 GM You're allowed to. 5, 15, 20... Oh, yeah, yeah. Okay. Never mind. I miscounted.
00:14:53 Nul Konn (Aaron) And that is it for me.
00:14:58 GM Okay.
00:14:59 GM Next, um, I'll say you all now for the first time hear, uh, the distant but persistent buzz of the alarms in your ship and realize that at some point before he fell unconscious, Ernie had sounded the alarm inside the ship to rouse your sleeping companions. And it is at the moment that you all realize this together, that someone bursts through the door.
00:15:41 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) You did wake me before you do this. Before! Uh, uh-oh. Hello, everyone. My name is Soren Swiftscale. I am a Velociraptor monk.
00:16:05 Cate Is that unusual for Velociraptors to be a monk?
00:16:09 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Uh well, it strikes me as a bit of a contradiction. But I chose... I chose a background of a far traveler, so I think my planet of origin is way, way out there. You probably haven't seen anybody like me before.
00:16:25 GM Outside the galaxy.
00:16:28 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) I mean, until they started working with you.
00:16:30 GM Until they started working with you, of course.
00:16:32 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Um... I have not selected my weapon yet. So, I'm going to be using some unarmed strikes. Ha!
00:16:42 GM Okay. Yeah. Alright. Well, let's see.
00:16:44 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) I run in here with my 50 feet of movement.
00:16:47 GM You... I'm going to say you land in this square with half of your movement left.
00:16:50 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) With half my movement left. Okay.
00:16:53 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) And it's just the big guy right now, right?
00:16:55 GM Just the big guy is the only one you perceive.
00:17:00 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Groovy. I'll go... 15 to hit?
00:17:04 GM 15 hits.
00:17:05 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) 15 hits. Okay.
00:17:06 Cate Can you perceive the big guy?
00:17:07 Cate He's obscured in darkness.
00:17:09 GM There's a big... You can hear the big guy.
00:17:13 GM But there's a big sphere of darkness.
00:17:15 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) How about... Can we do a perception check? I have a keen edge regarding smell.
00:17:21 GM Is smell a precise sense for you? That might just be a Starfinder concept.
00:17:26 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Um, it is. It is specifically for my species.
00:17:30 GM Okay. What species are...
00:17:32 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Um, Sephi. S-I-R-R-U-U. S-I, hyphen, R-R-U-U.
00:17:42 Cate Although those of you who are also in the darkness will know that Soren has entered the trash.
00:17:54 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) That is a dirty 20.
00:17:57 GM Um, if this thing gives off a smell.
00:18:04 GM You smell like lubricant oil, like mechanism smells.
00:18:13 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Gross!
00:18:14 GM And it smells familiar, yet different, cleaner. Kind of like, the difference between something plastic and something purely oil-based.
00:18:32 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Gotcha.
00:18:33 GM And you definitely... like, you know generally where this guy is.
00:18:38 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yeah. Well, then I will run up to that general area.
00:18:42 GM Okay. And you'll be... you'll still be hitting with disadvantage.
00:18:45 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yeah, I had a feeling about that. Sorry. Uh-uh. Sit down.
00:18:50 Nul Konn (Aaron) Robin.
00:18:51 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yes.
00:18:52 Nul Konn (Aaron) Uh, there is... I have a... an ability that I mentioned to everyone in the last round, in the last game, that is, uh, called Fate's Exploit.
00:19:03 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Okay.
00:19:04 Nul Konn (Aaron) Uh, I believe it's once per, uh, short rest. Uh, I'll double check for short or long rest. I get to roll a die and it just has a stored value that any of us can choose to use instead of... instead of rolling.
00:19:15 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Oh, man.
00:19:16 Nul Konn (Aaron) So, there is a 16 on the table for people to grab.
00:19:22 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Indefinitely or just once?
00:19:23 Nul Konn (Aaron) Just once. We get... There is 1/16 until the next rest.
00:19:27 GM And you have to decide before you roll.
00:19:28 Nul Konn (Aaron) You have to decide before you roll.
00:19:30 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Got it. Okay.
00:19:31 Nul Konn (Aaron) It's not a, "Oh, I rolled and failed, I get to choose... I can choose the 16." It's a, "This is going to be the killing blow, or I need to escape, or..." There's also no restriction on like, death saving throws that I found.
00:19:43 GM Yeah, that makes sense. Okay.
00:19:46 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Alright. I will get better once I've picked a weapon, but for the moment...
00:19:51 GM I mean...
00:19:54 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) That is...
00:20:03 GM W, X, Y, and Z?
00:20:16 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Um, 13 to hit?
00:20:17 GM 13 does not hit.
00:20:19 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) 13 does not hit. I'll try again.
00:20:26 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Ooh, that's better. That is 22 to hit.
00:20:31 GM That hits quite a bit.
00:20:33 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) All righty.
00:20:41 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Okay, so that is, um, 10 bludgeoning damage and 4 kinetic damage.
00:20:51 GM Okay.
00:20:52 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) And then I will use my bonus action...
00:20:54 GM So 14 total?
00:20:55 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yes. I will use my bonus action to attack again.
00:20:58 GM Okay.
00:21:00 GM Uh, you... the scent that you caught onto earlier, um, is even stronger now as you think this thing is starting to leak.
00:21:12 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Okay.
00:21:12 GM And mechanically bloodied.
00:21:14 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Amazing. Um, that was a nat 1, but I will, um, use a focus point to flurry of blows and attack one more time.
00:21:19 GM Okay.
00:21:21 GM Still with disadvantage. Yep.
00:21:23 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yep. I'm sorry. A lot of rolling.
00:21:28 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) 19 to hit.
00:21:29 GM Ah, that hits.
00:21:30 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Okay.
00:21:46 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Um, five... five bludgeoning, three kinetic.
00:21:50 GM Eight total?
00:21:52 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yes.
00:21:53 Nul Konn (Aaron) These ones are dead dice.
00:21:55 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Oh, how about...
00:21:56 Cate Just claw biting.
00:21:59 GM What does it sound like? Does, uh, does Soren make noises?
00:22:05 GM Is there a gnashing of teeth?
00:22:07 Nul Konn (Aaron) That is going to trade you. I get these, and you get these.
00:22:09 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) There's definitely a gnashing of teeth, but there's no grunting. This is like...
00:22:15 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) like an... an animal with precision. I am getting a job done, and that job is dismantling this... this machine.
00:22:24 GM Cool.
00:22:26 GM Uh, next up is the Professor.
00:22:28 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Oh, yeah.
00:22:29 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Thank you.
00:22:31 GM Ah, so you are shrouded in darkness.
00:22:34 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Uh-huh.
00:22:34 Nul Konn (Aaron) Those ones are yours.
00:22:36 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) I can't see shit.
00:22:37 GM Ah, and you are covered in grease.
00:22:40 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Yep.
00:22:41 GM Ah, oh. But, uh, Soren, give me a Dexterity saving throw, please.
00:22:48 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Okay.
00:22:57 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) 19.
00:22:58 GM Ah, that's a success. Give me a second one, because you end your turn there as well.
00:23:02 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Oh, okay.
00:23:06 GM Wait, wait, wait. No, you're not in the grease. Never mind. I'm mixing up the circles. Sorry.
00:23:09 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Great timing for a never mind. I love that.
00:23:13 GM Professor.
00:23:14 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Yeah.
00:23:14 GM You are covered in grease. Its effect does not happen until the end of your turn, if you are still in the grease.
00:23:21 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Yeah, can I try and like, disengage, would that make sense?
00:23:26 GM Um...
00:23:27 GM So, you could disengage and step back. Disengaging would take your action, or you could also try hopping up on the box next to you to get out of the grease without inspiring a...
00:23:38 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Can I hop onto this box?
00:23:40 GM Ah, yes, you would need to disengage or take an opportunity attack.
00:23:45 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Um, I'm going...
00:23:47 GM Because you're in... Yeah.
00:23:48 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Yeah, I'm going to disengage.
00:23:50 GM Cool.
00:23:51 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Uh, can I disengage and hop on the box?
00:23:53 GM Yep.
00:23:57 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Yeah, and then...
00:24:01 GM So disengaging is your action.
00:24:02 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Yes, I was trying to see if I had a bonus action I could use.
00:24:06 Nul Konn (Aaron) Five.
00:24:09 Nul Konn (Aaron) Six.
00:24:25 Nul Konn (Aaron) I'm going to...
00:24:40 Cate Did you put all eight on there? Good job!
00:24:44 Nul Konn (Aaron) I say over to, what's your name again?
00:24:47 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Soren.
00:24:48 Nul Konn (Aaron) Soren! I say, "Oh, Soren! Good to see you awake and alive and available! Good show, old chap!"
00:24:53 Aaron And I, I cast Sanctuary, um, on, what are your pronouns?
00:25:00 Aaron On Soren. Um, as a bonus action, which is in range of 30 feet, and until the power ends, which lasts for 1 minute.
00:25:11 GM Do you have to be able to see them?
00:25:13 Aaron The target of the spell. Or is it just any creature...
00:25:16 GM A creature you can see, or a creature within 30 feet?
00:25:18 Aaron It doesn't say that you can see.
00:25:19 GM Cool.
00:25:20 Robin Um, if it's the spell that I think it is, you might want to cast it on somebody else because it stops as soon as I attack.
00:25:33 Aaron Yeah, you're right.
00:25:34 Robin It might be good on...
00:25:35 Aaron I would save it for somebody else.
00:25:37 Robin Yeah.
00:25:39 Cate Yeah.
00:25:40 Robin Yeah, put it on Todd.
00:25:42 Aaron On Quack?
00:25:43 Aaron Yeah, I'll put it on that little thing.
00:25:44 Cate Who's right next to you.
00:25:45 Nul Konn (Aaron) Great! You take that instead, little, uh, that.
00:25:49 Cate Tinker?
00:25:50 Elayne I am large.
00:25:51 Hazel Treerton (Cate) You are the small thing. You're only a head.
00:25:53 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Who are you calling small?
00:25:55 Hazel Treerton (Cate) You're actually quite petite.
00:25:57 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Small is in the mind of the beholder.
00:26:00 Hazel Treerton (Cate) Yeah, only in the mind.
00:26:03 Elayne You don't have eyes.
00:26:07 Nul Konn (Aaron) I'm going to Sanctuary someone else. Don't do me.
00:26:15 Nul Konn (Aaron) How about you, little thing?
00:26:17 Nul Konn (Aaron) Sure, we'll do that one.
00:26:21 GM 30 feet?
00:26:22 Aaron Yeah, range 30 feet.
00:26:24 GM Okay.
00:26:27 Aaron Um, so anything targeting you must first make a wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature must choose a new target or lose its attack or power.
00:26:37 Robin I hope you translate it.
00:26:40 Cate Yeah, everybody can understand me, but we don't understand.
00:26:46 GM Um, is that the end of your turn?
00:26:47 Cate We will fill in the blanks.
00:26:49 Robin With whatever we want.
00:26:52 Cate The rest of us understand.
00:26:55 Robin Only if Elaine uses language.
00:27:00 GM Okay. The characters can say whatever they want.
00:27:06 Cate Is that Mama's name?
00:27:07 GM Ernie is asleep. Uh, Hazel is up.
00:27:10 Cate Okay.
00:27:11 Cate Do you know what Dada's name is?
00:27:12 Cate A, am I in the darkness?
00:27:14 Cate What's Dada's name?
00:27:16 GM Uh, you are, you can choose... so you are mostly not in the darkness. You can be in your space and not be in the darkness. If you wanted to be in the darkness, you can huddle into the corner of your space.
00:27:26 Cate What's Dada's name?
00:27:27 GM You have optionality.
00:27:28 Cate Does it make a difference?
00:27:30 GM Just if there were an advantage to you, I would let you be in the darkness. But I don't think there is.
00:27:33 GM That's what I'm saying.
00:27:34 Cate Okay. Um...
00:27:36 Cate And...
00:27:37 Cate Jezebel.
00:27:39 Cate Do I have a line of...
00:27:43 Cate Sight?
00:27:43 GM Attack?
00:27:44 GM Uh, you have, yeah, you could, like, essentially, this guy is two squares tall, and, um, Soren is only one, so you could shoot over Soren.
00:27:53 Cate Shoot up, okay.
00:27:55 GM You would still be shooting with disadvantage.
00:27:57 Cate No.
00:27:58 GM Because the darkness.
00:27:58 Cate Yeah, because of darkness.
00:28:00 GM But not because of interference.
00:28:03 Cate Oh.
00:28:05 Cate I have disadvantage.
00:28:07 Cate Okay. Um...
00:28:13 Cate We are...
00:28:19 Aaron putting her napkin on the table.
00:28:20 Cate Um...
00:28:22 Aaron putting her napkin in the tub.
00:28:25 Cary That's gross.
00:28:27 Cary We don't eat dice.
00:28:30 GM Speak for yourself.
00:28:32 Cary I, I speak for the table.
00:28:35 Cate I speak for the trees, for the cannot speak for themselves.
00:28:38 GM Sustain themselves?
00:28:40 Cate Did you just put that in your mouth?
00:28:42 Cate Yes, Alder.
00:28:44 Cate Alder, uh-uh, that does not go in your mouth.
00:28:47 Cary He tried to put it in my mouth and I said no.
00:28:51 Cate Do you know how many friends have touched that?
00:28:53 Cary Three.
00:28:55 Cate How many foes or favorite enemies?
00:29:00 GM No.
00:29:01 Cate No.
00:29:07 Cate Okay.
00:29:10 Cate Uh...
00:29:12 GM First question, A.
00:29:13 Cate Well, no, tho, those were two questions.
00:29:15 Cate Um...
00:29:17 Cate Then I guess the next question is if I'm using...
00:29:20 Cate reckless attack, which gives me advantage?
00:29:24 GM That would give you flat.
00:29:25 Cate It just cancels it out.
00:29:26 GM It just cancels it out, yeah.
00:29:27 Cate Okay.
00:29:30 Cate Good job!
00:29:32 Aaron Good job.
00:29:33 Cate Um, I tried really hard.
00:29:37 Cate Thank you.
00:29:38 Cate Okay. That's what I'll do then.
00:29:40 GM Okay.
00:29:41 Cate So I get advantage.
00:29:43 Cate Okay.
00:29:44 Hazel Treerton (Cate) Um, I'm going to use my sub-repeater,
00:29:49 Hazel Treerton (Cate) which rapid fires, and so...
00:29:53 Hazel Treerton (Cate) um...
00:29:55 Hazel Treerton (Cate) you have to make a dexterity saving throw, it's DC 8 plus my bonus to attacks with the weapon, so 15.
00:30:03 GM Eight?
00:30:04 Cate And...
00:30:07 GM Dex save?
00:30:08 Cate Yeah.
00:30:14 GM Natural one.
00:30:19 Cate Uh, okay, so if you fail,
00:30:22 Cate then I get to roll my damage twice,
00:30:27 Cate which is...
00:30:30 Hazel Treerton (Cate) 1d6 energy.
00:30:39 Cate And a four, five.
00:30:43 GM No bonus? No plus?
00:30:50 GM Should be plus your, um, dexterity modifier.
00:30:55 Cate Okay, I just did not write that down apparently.
00:31:03 Cate Um...
00:31:04 Cate So nine.
00:31:07 GM Nine total?
00:31:09 Cate Adding relevant modifiers as normal.
00:31:14 Cate Does that mean I add it once?
00:31:15 GM Add it once, so nine.
00:31:17 GM It says, "roll the damage twice and add modifiers as normal."
00:31:20 Cate Yeah.
00:31:21 GM So I read that as roll twice.
00:31:23 GM Modifier once.
00:31:25 Cate Yeah, okay.
00:31:27 Cate Um, and then I get to attack again,
00:31:31 Cate which...
00:31:33 GM Still recklessly, so flat.
00:31:35 Cate Okay, so do that again.
00:31:37 GM Yeah.
00:31:45 GM Right, reckless attack applies to your whole turn?
00:31:48 Cate It says...
00:31:49 Cate It says "first attack on your turn."
00:31:51 GM Oh.
00:31:52 Cate Oh, no, "gives advantage during this turn."
00:31:54 GM Yeah. Yes. Okay.
00:31:57 GM It's all or nothing. That's why it says first attack.
00:31:59 GM You must apply it to first attack.
00:32:01 Cate Mhmm, okay.
00:32:03 GM And then also...
00:32:04 Aaron My force power is the next one.
00:32:05 GM You can't be like, and then you can.
00:32:06 GM Non-recklessly, and then turn on reckless.
00:32:08 Cate Yeah, alright, so 15 is what you're beating.
00:32:11 GM Oh, right. Sorry.
00:32:13 Aaron I like my force power trackers.
00:32:14 GM And, that saves.
00:32:15 Cate Great.
00:32:16 GM 21.
00:32:20 Cate Okay.
00:32:25 GM Uh, wait.
00:32:30 Aaron No.
00:32:37 Cary No.
00:32:38 GM Yep, that's correct.
00:32:39 Cate Okay, then I guess that's it.
00:32:44 Cate Oh, I get a bonus action.
00:32:50 Cate Um...
00:32:57 Robin Yeah, he is definitely started eliminating, like, 90% of the alphabet.
00:33:04 Cate No.
00:33:06 Cate We're not through those.
00:33:07 Cate Put it on the table.
00:33:10 Cate Can I jump up onto the, move onto the top here?
00:33:13 GM Yeah.
00:33:16 Cate I guess I mean the darkness, but whatever.
00:33:19 Cate Okay.
00:33:21 GM Okay, end of my turn.
00:33:23 Hazel Treerton (Cate) What with the darkness?
00:33:26 GM That's the big guy's turn.
00:33:33 GM Um...
00:33:36 Giant Security Construct (GM) All right, the big one is going to slam Soren first with disadvantage.
00:33:40 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) You can try.
00:33:50 GM There we go.
00:33:53 GM 15?
00:33:54 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Nope.
00:33:56 GM Okay.
00:33:57 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) I'm very fast and very scaly.
00:34:00 Giant Security Construct (GM) And then going to do one war pick attack each on Soren and Hazel.
00:34:08 Giant Security Construct (GM) So, Soren...
00:34:14 GM Um, that's a miss. 12.
00:34:17 Giant Security Construct (GM) And Hazel, this is flat against you because you attacked recklessly.
00:34:26 GM That's a 24.
00:34:28 Cate Yep.
00:34:29 Robin Explain to me what improved power means.
00:34:33 Robin Yeah.
00:34:38 GM That's...
00:34:40 Cate Good job.
00:34:42 Cate Good job.
00:34:43 Cate Thank you.
00:34:44 GM 13 piercing damage.
00:34:45 Cate You'll say you're welcome?
00:34:46 Cate Welcome.
00:34:47 GM Which would be halved if you're in a rage.
00:34:50 GM But did you start a rage?
00:34:51 Cate Mhmm, I have been in rage since last session.
00:34:57 GM Okay.
00:34:59 Cate Welcome.
00:35:00 GM All right.
00:35:03 Cate Wel.
00:35:06 Cate Dada.
00:35:07 GM You got it?
00:35:07 Cate What?
00:35:08 Cate Ah, yes, so halved.
00:35:09 Cate Welcome.
00:35:11 GM To six.
00:35:12 Cate Yes.
00:35:13 Cate Yes, that's better.
00:35:14 Cate Welcome.
00:35:15 GM Elaine.
00:35:16 GM Uh, what was the spell that you cast with the sound, what's the name of it?
00:35:20 Cate Oh, um, my computer just died.
00:35:24 Elayne It is, um...
00:35:25 GM Soundtrack?
00:35:26 Elayne Yes, that sounds right.
00:35:28 Elayne That sounds correct.
00:35:30 Cate Welcome.
00:35:31 Robin Um, when you cast a spell that deals damage,
00:35:34 Cate Dada.
00:35:35 Robin you can spend an additional force point to reroll up to five dice.
00:35:40 Cate Alder.
00:35:41 Cate Alder.
00:35:42 Robin So if you roll damage and it's like roll five of, one of that one,
00:35:45 Cate See?
00:35:46 Robin let's say you roll five, five dice, and they're all supposed to be d6s.
00:35:52 Cate Mhmm.
00:35:53 Robin And like, two of them are ones, you can pick up those two dice and reroll them.
00:35:55 Cate Oh, okay.
00:35:57 Robin If you spend three points, oh sorry, one point.
00:36:00 Cate One dollar.
00:36:01 Robin One point.
00:36:02 Robin To reroll three dice.
00:36:03 Cate One.
00:36:04 Cate Dollar.
00:36:06 Cate Is it?
00:36:07 GM That does not require advantage, right?
00:36:08 Cate Nope.
00:36:09 GM This one?
00:36:10 Cate That's like the...
00:36:11 GM This one?
00:36:12 Cate Offense.
00:36:13 GM This one?
00:36:14 Cate Swash class, right? Either you have advantage or someone is within five feet.
00:36:17 GM Correct. This one?
00:36:18 Cate Okay. And you don't have disadvantage.
00:36:20 GM This one?
00:36:21 Cate Oh, but I don't.
00:36:23 GM Right, it was flat.
00:36:24 Cate Can I just roll this?
00:36:26 GM This one?
00:36:28 GM This one?
00:36:29 Cate Five.
00:36:30 GM This one?
00:36:31 Cate Thank you.
00:36:32 GM Mhm.
00:36:33 Cate I think I had advantage and...
00:36:35 GM This one?
00:36:36 Cate Okay.
00:36:37 GM This one?
00:36:38 GM This one?
00:36:41 GM This one?
00:36:43 GM This one?
00:36:44 Cate Wow.
00:36:45 GM This one?
00:36:47 Cate Sorry. What did you need? Me?
00:36:49 GM Okay. This one?
00:36:50 GM I was just looking at the details of the spells. Um, so...
00:36:54 Cate It's all of them, bud.
00:36:55 GM The duration of the spell is a minute long, and several of the example effects, if it's like a constant thing, like harmless tremors or you change the appearance of your eyes, uh, that lasts a minute, but there are other things that say instantaneous. So like, "You create an instantaneous sound such as a rumble of thunder or ominous whispers." So, I'm trying to figure out like, is the thing that you did still going?
00:37:22 Cate I think because it's a voice that was like saying a specific thing, that it was instantaneous and it ended.
00:37:31 GM Yeah, that was my interpretation of it too. Okay, cool.
00:37:33 Cate Because it was like, I was trying to convince them to get them to leave. So the idea was I'd be impersonating something that they would respond to in another place.
00:37:46 GM That makes sense.
00:37:48 Cate So yeah, once they left like I assume it dissipated.
00:37:52 GM Yep. Okay. Um, okay. I'm going to just roll a d20.
00:38:00 GM Um, okay. I'll roll it in front of the table. Uh...
00:38:03 Cate No, it's fine.
00:38:06 GM Uh, one to five, all four of the dogs are have like investigated to their satisfaction and are going back. Six to ten, three of them are coming back. Eleven to fifteen, two, and sixteen to twenty... No, no. A roll, I'm chunking up twenty into four chunks. Okay.
00:38:32 GM Eighteen. So, only one dog is back.
00:38:36 Cate Yeah.
00:38:37 GM Okay.
00:38:40 Cate Yeah, you can take the towel out from under his...
00:38:42 GM And I'll say it's Dog A.
00:38:44 GM Okay. Um, so you hear some rummaging in the other room and it is now Fletcher's turn. Fletcher is taking a nap.
00:38:54 Cate Fletch.
00:38:55 GM It's your turn.
00:38:57 Hazel Treerton (Cate) Oh. Great. Uh, I am going to...
00:39:06 Cate So, the darkness is still happening, right?
00:39:08 GM Yes.
00:39:12 GM You may dismiss the darkness at any point.
00:39:14 Cate Sure.
00:39:19 Cate I'd like the darkness...
00:39:20 GM Um, the baddy...
00:39:22 Cate Uh, no.
00:39:23 GM Roll...
00:39:24 Cate Okay.
00:39:25 Robin It's hurting.
00:39:26 GM It's hurting both sides.
00:39:32 Cate Yeah. Does it an action to eliminate the darkness?
00:39:34 GM No.
00:39:35 Cate Oh, then...
00:39:37 Cate Can I see in the darkness?
00:39:38 GM No.
00:39:41 Cate Um, okay.
00:39:43 Cate I can't consult my other spells, so I don't know what to do.
00:39:47 GM Um, do you need a charger?
00:39:49 Cate Yeah.
00:39:50 GM Okay.
00:40:02 GM Is it USB-C?
00:40:04 Cate USB-C. Okay.
00:40:08 GM Thank you.
00:40:09 Cate Oh, okay.
00:40:15 GM Um, you can also just defer your turn for now.
00:40:17 Cate Yeah, let's do that.
00:40:24 GM Okay.
00:40:26 Cate But I can eliminate the darkness?
00:40:27 GM Uh, yes, you may dismiss the darkness.
00:40:35 Robin The squirrel is getting upset.
00:40:37 GM I don't like bothering squirrel.
00:40:39 Cate I can't see anything!
00:40:41 GM Squirrel's been cussing up a storm!
00:40:45 Cate So I'm going to...
00:40:48 GM All right. This guy lands there with half his movement. What's his name?
00:40:54 GM Okay.
00:40:55 GM And the darkness is...
00:40:57 GM I'll wait on this till it's your turn.
00:41:00 GM Um, okay. Uh, there's a bubble of darkness.
00:41:07 GM Dog A...
00:41:10 GM is going to...
00:41:12 GM Well, that's annoying.
00:41:19 GM Five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five, jump jumping on top of E.R.N.E.'s unconscious body... and is going to bite at the Professor.
00:41:37 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Oh, don't bite me. No bite me.
00:41:46 GM Oh, dear.
00:41:51 GM Oh, you know what else I forgot to do? Bonus.
00:41:54 GM Uh, 24 hit the Professor?
00:41:56 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Oh, unfortunately.
00:41:59 Cary 14 AC.
00:42:01 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Just a flesh wound.
00:42:10 GM 19 piercing damage.
00:42:13 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) What was that? 19 piercing damage?
00:42:16 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Oh, dear.
00:42:19 GM And that is the top of the order. Nul, you're up.
00:42:23 Aaron Okay. Uh, darkness is lifted?
00:42:29 GM Uh, darkness is not yet lifted because Cate has not taken their turn.
00:42:35 Aaron Right. Have I...
00:42:39 Aaron Is there any way to discern whether or not the big guy has moved?
00:42:43 GM Give me a perception check.
00:42:45 Aaron I'm not great at perception.
00:42:52 Aaron Where is perception?
00:42:54 GM Under wisdom.
00:42:57 Aaron Oh, I am great at perception!
00:43:00 Aaron Um, three, six, 17 plus one? Do I add my wisdom modifier?
00:43:06 GM Yes.
00:43:07 Aaron 18.
00:43:08 GM Uh, seems like the whirring is in the same place it was before.
00:43:12 Aaron Okay.
00:43:13 Aaron So, given that, I think I'm going to try to move in and attack and then come move back out. So, one, two... I'm going to, I guess, attempt to move forward and can't anymore because a thing is there.
00:43:33 GM Um, you're still rolling with disadvantage to attack.
00:43:35 Aaron Yes. How fast did you move forward?
00:43:40 Cate Like, one thing is top style?
00:43:41 GM Yes. Yes.
00:43:46 Cate I meant like, in the terms of like, could I use emotional magic on it?
00:43:51 GM It might be immune to emotional magic, we don't know, because it is a robot, but...
00:43:57 Cate We do know that it can't be charmed.
00:43:59 GM Right, yeah. You learned that the hard way.
00:44:00 Cate First, this...
00:44:03 GM ...it can't be charmed, you know that.
00:44:05 Aaron 17 to hit?
00:44:06 GM Hits.
00:44:07 Aaron Okay.
00:44:08 Cate Can he get some damage from running full on into the thing?
00:44:14 GM Unless you want to spend an action...
00:44:17 Aaron First hit will be not a ton. Um...
00:44:26 Aaron That is uh seven damage for the first one.
00:44:30 GM Sure.
00:44:31 Aaron And then the second one...
00:44:34 GM You get into like a hip joint and...
00:44:37 Aaron ...just more...
00:44:39 GM ...just inner ooze.
00:44:43 Aaron That's probably not going to hit. Uh, that'll be 11 to hit.
00:44:48 GM Nope.
00:44:49 Aaron Yeah.
00:44:50 GM Swinging wildly, you connect once...
00:44:52 Aaron Yeah. Um, I think I'm going to go ahead and take just apply the sneak attack damage to it from the first hit.
00:45:02 GM Okay.
00:45:03 Aaron And I was determining whether or not I wanted to roll something else, but I don't, so just another two.
00:45:10 GM Okay.
00:45:12 GM I don't think you had any bonuses to that, right?
00:45:15 Aaron Correct.
00:45:16 Aaron Okay, then I'm going to... Woop, woop.
00:45:19 GM Um, bonus action, disengage?
00:45:22 Aaron Uh, I can do that, but my bonus action was second strike, but I get to because of my rakish audacity, if I deal damage, then...
00:45:32 GM Cool.
00:45:33 Cate What a name!
00:45:34 Robin Right? Yeah.
00:45:37 GM All right. End of turn?
00:45:40 Aaron I believe so. I do have a question about an action that I can do for a future engagement, but we don't need it.
00:45:48 GM Okay. Soren.
00:45:50 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yes, I...
00:45:51 GM You had slammed and slashed at...
00:45:55 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) ...at least.
00:45:56 GM ...and know generally where this thing is, but it's...
00:45:59 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) ...right.
00:46:00 GM ...right in front of you.
00:46:03 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Well, I'm still going to go after it, and I'm still going unarmed because even though I now have a weapon, my unarmed strikes are objectively better.
00:46:10 GM In fact,
00:46:11 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) I added a feature, so now they are even better than they were last turn.
00:46:17 GM So it is continually with the disadvantage.
00:46:20 Robin Learning on the job.
00:46:21 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Learning on the job, that is...
00:46:25 Robin 21 to hit.
00:46:27 GM Uh, that hits.
00:46:28 Robin And now I'm rolling d8s instead of d6s.
00:46:31 Cate Nice.
00:46:33 Aaron Because you found some weapons?
00:46:35 Robin No, because I beefed up my unarmed strike.
00:46:38 Cate Ah.
00:46:39 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Oh, well, that's a one now. Um...
00:46:43 Robin 13 damage.
00:46:44 GM Okay. I will attack again.
00:46:47 GM Uh, you get squirted in the face with more just robot juice.
00:46:53 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Stop that. Just die.
00:46:56 Robin That's an net one, so I'm not even going to bother...
00:46:57 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) No, actually,
00:47:00 Robin I'm going to use an ability that I have.
00:47:01 Cate Oh!
00:47:02 Robin One of my monastic vows is, um, the vow of fate, which basically gives me a portent roll.
00:47:08 Cate Nice.
00:47:09 Robin So I got an 18 instead.
00:47:10 GM Uh, okay. Uh, that hits, regardless of your modifier.
00:47:19 Robin That's a low roll, but that is still...
00:47:25 Robin 10 more damage.
00:47:27 GM How does this robot meet its end?
00:47:31 Robin It had nine hit points left.
00:47:34 Cate Ooh.
00:47:35 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) I think that I take one of my one of my claws and I'm just getting pummeled with all of this like goo and lubricant. Stop that! I just stick a finger in and the the the lubricant starts to spread throughout, like into cracks and areas it shouldn't go, and eventually just...
00:47:59 Cate gums it up.
00:48:00 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) gums it up, and then it collapses. There's some sparking.
00:48:06 GM Go.
00:48:07 GM Uh, so, Big Guy is downed.
00:48:10 Cate Ha-ha.
00:48:11 GM Um...
00:48:13 GM Are you ready?
00:48:14 Cate Or not yet.
00:48:16 GM No, this is an opportunity.
00:48:18 Elayne Um, were the power, like, uh, the power level of the spells that I'm allowed to use, does it only go to four, or does it go up to seven?
00:48:28 Elayne Because we're seventh.
00:48:31 GM Uh, it doesn't go up to seven. Okay.
00:48:34 GM Uh, there's a table. What's your, a consul?
00:48:36 Elayne Yeah.
00:48:38 Cate Yeah.
00:48:39 Elayne I put in a filter in this thing, and I'm trying to figure out like, was that correct, because when Aaron and I were going over some of this, yes.
00:48:44 GM Fourth level is your max spell level.
00:48:46 Elayne Perfect.
00:48:47 Robin Can I see the dogs?
00:48:49 GM Uh, you can see a dog.
00:48:51 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) All right.
00:48:52 Robin Um, can I go hit the dog with my, with a bonus action?
00:48:54 GM Uh, yeah.
00:48:56 Robin Cool. Want to send me over there?
00:48:58 GM Yeah, because you didn't move at all.
00:48:59 Robin Send me on my way, and this is not with the attack action.
00:49:02 GM Okay, now give me a Dex save.
00:49:04 Robin Okay.
00:49:05 GM Uh, cause I think...
00:49:08 GM Well, yeah, go get it.
00:49:10 GM 5, 10, 15, 20. You can avoid the grease.
00:49:14 Robin Oh, okay. Cool.
00:49:18 Robin That is a 23 to hit.
00:49:20 GM That hits.
00:49:27 Robin And I'll make this, well, I don't know how, how strong these things are. It might be a waste of time to make a stunning strike.
00:49:37 Robin Ooh, that is nine damage.
00:49:40 GM Okay.
00:49:41 Robin And, um, yeah, I will attempt to make this a stunning strike. I need to look up...
00:49:44 GM Nine damage?
00:49:45 Robin Yes.
00:49:46 GM Okay.
00:49:49 Robin That should be a Con save.
00:49:53 GM Yes, Con save against my force DC.
00:49:57 GM That's a 19 to save.
00:49:59 Robin That would be successful. Correction, I did have it written correctly here, I don't have to deal damage, I just have to make a melee attack against it.
00:50:07 GM Oh, okay. That's nice.
00:50:10 Robin Well, that's my turn.
00:50:12 GM Okay.
00:50:13 GM Back to Elayne.
00:50:14 Elayne Elayne or do you want to continue holding your turn? Um, question. Uh, if I...
00:50:22 Elayne Um, if I...
00:50:24 Elayne uh, I can't decide whether to use Affect Minds or Battle Insight.
00:50:29 Elayne Because Affect Minds doesn't actually tell me what's if the, whatever I used it on, like, aids...
00:50:37 Elayne uh, like, it just says that I gain advantage on Charisma checks. It doesn't say like...
00:50:42 GM Also, everything here is hostile toward you, so you can't target any of the baddies here.
00:50:49 Elayne You said everything is hostile.
00:50:51 GM Yeah. Everything is hostile. Yeah.
00:50:54 Elayne I didn't see the "isn't hostile". I thought it was hostile and I was like "Yeah, everything is, we already clarified everything is hostile."
00:51:00 GM Done. Okay. Okay.
00:51:03 Elayne Um...
00:51:04 Elayne So then...
00:51:05 Elayne um, wait, why did he get flipped upside down?
00:51:08 GM He died.
00:51:09 Elayne He died. Oh, he's dead.
00:51:10 GM But there's a dog.
00:51:11 Elayne The dogs are still here.
00:51:12 GM There are three dogs somewhere deeper in the ship and one dog near you.
00:51:16 Elayne Yeah, I will use Battle Insight.
00:51:18 GM Okay.
00:51:19 Elayne Uh, sensory focus on a target within range, so before you gain brief insight into their defenses, and then on next turn you gain advantage on your first attack.
00:51:28 GM Okay.
00:51:29 Elayne Uh, but I don't...
00:51:33 Elayne Are attacks different than spells?
00:51:35 GM Uh, some spells are attacks. Not all spells are attacks.
00:51:37 Elayne I would have to...
00:51:40 Elayne I would have to use an attack spell or I would have to like physically engage the...
00:51:45 GM Not necessarily physically engage, like you could like Fireball would be an attack spell.
00:51:50 Elayne For example.
00:51:51 GM Yeah.
00:51:51 Elayne I haven't gotten into attack spells though.
00:51:53 GM Um...
00:51:57 Elayne I'm going to do my, uh...
00:51:59 Elayne I'm going to do my sound trick again.
00:52:01 GM Okay.
00:52:02 Elayne And see if I can lure them away, because then if I can lure them away, then we can follow them.
00:52:09 GM Yeah.
00:52:11 Elayne So...
00:52:12 Elayne Yeah, I'm going to do that.
00:52:14 GM Okay.
00:52:15 GM Um...
00:52:23 Elayne Am I allowed to reuse the same spell, as long as I have the points to pay for it?
00:52:24 GM Yep.
00:52:26 GM Yeah.
00:52:27 Elayne Then, yeah.
00:52:29 GM And sound trick is at will.
00:52:31 Elayne Yeah.
00:52:32 GM So it costs no points.
00:52:33 GM Correct.
00:52:34 Elayne But it costs my action.
00:52:34 GM Correct.
00:52:35 Elayne Yeah. Okay.
00:52:37 GM Yeah, but no spell points.
00:52:38 Elayne Well, I do have enhancer stuff.
00:52:40 Elayne That I could use a spell point for.
00:52:44 GM Okay.
00:52:50 Elayne So, I'm going to use the, uh...
00:52:58 Elayne extend power for one force point, which allows me to double the duration of the sound trick.
00:53:05 GM Okay.
00:53:06 Elayne And that will just give us more time, if it works.
00:53:09 GM Uh, you don't really need to do that, cause the duration is a minute,
00:53:13 GM and that's 10 rounds.
00:53:16 Cary We have had two rounds, three rounds of combat.
00:53:18 GM Yeah.
00:53:19 Elayne Oh.
00:53:20 GM You'll have killed it before 10 rounds are up, or it will have killed you.
00:53:24 Cate And if it does, something really went wrong.
00:53:29 Elayne Well, my thought was just that if it runs, I mean, I guess if it runs away then we have time to investigate the space
00:53:34 Elayne a little bit, but...
00:53:35 GM Sure.
00:53:36 Elayne Yeah.
00:53:36 GM But if you're making a singular sound, then you also don't need the duration.
00:53:41 GM Like if you're trying to throw your voice again.
00:53:43 Elayne Yeah.
00:53:43 GM Then that happens once, instantaneous,
00:53:47 GM and then the duration doesn't matter.
00:53:48 Elayne Oh, I thought it had to go, one minute lingering or something.
00:53:52 Elayne Because once you say that, that's why they didn't come back.
00:53:54 GM Oh, to let it linger.
00:53:55 GM Well, so this one came back. Well, I just did a luck roll, like they heard a thing, they're like "Ooh?" and went into this room.
00:54:03 GM The sound didn't persist, but they were investigating.
00:54:07 GM Three of them are still figuring out what's going on. This one was like, "I'm done looking."
00:54:10 Elayne Cool. Okay, yeah, I'll just do that again.
00:54:13 GM Okay.
00:54:14 GM Um, I'm going to give him advantage on this roll because fool me once.
00:54:20 Elayne Sure.
00:54:21 GM Um, but these little guys are not...
00:54:22 Elayne I do have a thing to counteract their advantage. Don't I?
00:54:28 Elayne Yeah, uh, three force points, one target disadvantage
00:54:33 Elayne oh, on saving throw. Kind of mind.
00:54:36 GM Yeah, this is a save.
00:54:37 Elayne Oh save.
00:54:40 GM Okay.
00:54:42 GM What is your, uh, force save DC?
00:54:50 Elayne I don't know.
00:54:53 Elayne What's my force save DC, Aaron?
00:54:55 Aaron Uh, I think we said it was 16.
00:54:57 GM That sounds right.
00:54:59 GM Uh, you got a 13.
00:55:01 Aaron Oh, but your, you get to do, we've boosted your wisdom by one, so it probably...
00:55:06 Elayne Wisdom is 15.
00:55:08 Aaron 14 plus 1, yes.
00:55:10 GM Uh, plus proficiency?
00:55:11 Aaron Oh, yes.
00:55:13 Aaron 16 is plus 3.
00:55:14 Elayne Oh, plus proficiency?
00:55:16 Aaron I think, I think it's 16, or I think it's 17.
00:55:20 Aaron It was 16 before we added...
00:55:22 GM Maybe it's not with proficiency.
00:55:23 Cary I don't think it's with proficiency.
00:55:24 Aaron I believe it's 17.
00:55:26 GM Okay. Fail.
00:55:27 Aaron It's 18.
00:55:28 Aaron It's 18.
00:55:30 GM Okay.
00:55:31 Aaron It's 18, so fail.
00:55:33 GM Okay, yeah, fail. No, no, no.
00:55:36 GM The dog's check failed.
00:55:37 Elayne Got it.
00:55:39 GM Yeah, I thought it was 17.
00:55:41 GM I mean, we're seventh level.
00:55:43 Elayne No, well, because I have a plus two.
00:55:44 Cate Mm-hmm.
00:55:44 Elayne And we bumped it because...
00:55:47 Aaron Your, your charisma should be plus three.
00:55:49 Elayne Yeah.
00:55:51 Elayne Okay, I tried doing plus three, but you keep saying the base thing needed to change.
00:55:54 Aaron Yeah, both changed. You didn't, you went, you went from 15 to 16, which pushes this from two to three.
00:56:06 GM Do you have like an automatic ceiling?
00:56:08 Aaron Subtract 10 and divide by two.
00:56:10 Elayne So for every two above 10, you get a plus one.
00:56:14 Elayne So, like, 12 is plus one, 14 is plus two, 16 would be plus three.
00:56:19 GM Okay.
00:56:19 Aaron So your charisma went up. Your charisma modifier went up one.
00:56:25 Elayne I didn't, I wasn't aware it was both. I thought it was like I had to choose whether it was the base one or the advantage.
00:56:30 Aaron No.
00:56:31 Elayne So, my bad. Okay.
00:56:32 GM No, it's okay. Hey, I get more, well.
00:56:35 Elayne Sorry.
00:56:36 Aaron Which is why I think it's 17.
00:56:38 Elayne Then I'm actually 19.
00:56:40 Aaron No.
00:56:41 Cate Yes.
00:56:41 Aaron You're not adding the charisma, and these are, these are separate things.
00:56:44 Aaron So, so it's just the plus three, not the 16.
00:56:47 Elayne Oh, sorry. It's okay.
00:56:49 Elayne Got it.
00:56:52 GM The effect of that is waiting until the dog's turn.
00:56:56 GM So it's the Professor's turn now.
00:56:59 Cary Okay.
00:57:01 Cary Um, I got this guy right here.
00:57:05 GM Uh, you see that dog's ears perked up, and are pointed back at this room.
00:57:10 Cary Okay, so he might be coming out.
00:57:13 Cate That's awesome.
00:57:22 Cary But get that XP.
00:57:24 Cary Um...
00:57:26 Cary And is there another one, or just that one?
00:57:28 GM Uh, there are three more dogs that you've seen disappear into this area.
00:57:33 Cate Okay.
00:57:34 Cary We have like 30,000 credits.
00:57:36 Aaron 15,000 credits to buy weapons and armor.
00:57:40 Cary Okay.
00:57:40 Cary Can I see that area?
00:57:42 GM Um, give me a perception check.
00:57:44 Aaron There is a, uh, durafiber armor if you have light armor proficiency, that gives you advantage on sound checks for silence.
00:57:49 Cate Did you subtract?
00:57:51 Aaron I don't know if that's important to you or not, but it's also...
00:57:53 Robin I get a lot of unarmored bonuses. So...
00:57:56 Aaron Then, yeah.
00:57:57 Robin Yeah.
00:57:57 Cary A dirty 20.
00:57:59 GM Okay.
00:57:59 Robin I'm a monk, I don't want armor.
00:58:01 GM You see there are definitely two dogs in this room.
00:58:06 GM Um, you don't see where the third is, but you know it went through that door.
00:58:09 Cary Okay.
00:58:10 Cary That's assuming that there are not more dogs in that room.
00:58:14 GM We know that two dogs went into that room.
00:58:16 GM Three dogs went into that room and one has come out.
00:58:18 Cary Yes, and the Professor sees two.
00:58:22 Elayne Would we say that the ones who are not in the room are still hostile towards us?
00:58:26 GM Uh, if they're running away.
00:58:30 GM Yeah, they are.
00:58:33 GM They don't have a neutral attitude toward you.
00:58:39 Cary Uh, I'm going to cast Convulsion.
00:58:42 Cary And, as choosing a point I can see on the ground within range, a fountain of churned earth and stone erupts in a 20-foot cube.
00:58:52 GM Cool.
00:58:54 Cary Centered on that point, so like, yeah, that whole room.
00:58:57 GM That whole room.
00:58:59 Cary Um, each creature in that area must take a Dexterity saving throw.
00:59:03 Cary A creature takes 3d12 kinetic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
00:59:10 Cary Additionally, the ground in that area becomes difficult terrain until cleared.
00:59:13 Cary Each 5-foot square portion of that area requires at least one minute to clear by hand.
00:59:19 GM Okay.
00:59:21 GM Um, okay, what save do they do?
00:59:24 Cary Um, my, it's a, against, it's a Dex save against a DC 15.
00:59:28 GM DC 15. Okay.
00:59:36 GM That's two successes and one failure.
00:59:47 GM Um, and, so roll damage.
00:59:50 Cary And I'm going to actually cast it up a level by one, so we get another d12.
00:59:56 Cary I thought that was a die. I thought it was.
00:59:59 GM And just a die, become more powerful.
01:00:01 Cate That's my first power.
01:00:06 Cary asked me before, but
01:00:07 Robin that is clever. Yeah, nice.
01:00:09 Cary And incentivizes actually using them, too, and not, uh
01:00:11 GM Yeah.
01:00:12 Cate Okay. Um, can I grab a few
01:00:14 Cate to mark my own, uh, focus points?
01:00:18 GM Um, d12, that's
01:00:20 Cary Those are- that's how Cary's tracking focus points.
01:00:22 GM This one at a time.
01:00:23 Cate Woo!
01:00:25 Aaron 6, 7
01:00:26 Cary Which, by the way, I believe you're at 32 now.
01:00:30 Cate Force points.
01:00:31 Cary Not 30.
01:00:33 Aaron 11
01:00:36 Cate There you go.
01:00:37 Aaron 9
01:00:40 Cary We'll have to calculate it again. It's a minimum of 32, it might be 33.
01:00:47 Aaron That's 35.
01:00:49 Cary Minimum of 28.
01:00:50 Nul Konn (Aaron) 35 damage if they fail the save, and half of that if they succeeded.
01:00:55 Cary Uh, so 17.
01:00:57 Aaron Mhm. Uh, okay.
01:01:07 GM Take 17 damage, cur.
01:01:10 Cate Um
01:01:11 Cary Cool. Um, and that is difficult terrain now?
01:01:14 Nul Konn (Aaron) That is now difficult terrain, yes.
01:01:15 Cary Cool.
01:01:18 Cary As, somehow, out of the metal floor of this ship, earth erupts. Just boulders coming out of the ground.
01:01:25 Cary Um, or is it metallic?
01:01:28 Cary Just flavor-wise. What is the Professor doing to the ground?
01:01:33 Nul Konn (Aaron) I think it's like, uh, it's quicksilver. Hot quicksilver, we are going to have a little, little, uh, little metal coming into the place.
01:01:42 Cary It's mercury. Yeah, we're getting mercury.
01:01:44 Cate Is it, is it, uh, like Avatar: Last Airbender?
01:01:49 Cary I've never seen it.
01:01:50 Cate It's the, when they do metalbending, they're not actually bending the metal, they're bending the little micro-bits of earth in the metal. So, you're like pulling up all the earth, but it pulls the metal along with it.
01:02:01 Cary K. Okay.
01:02:04 GM Um, okay. Uh, so, yeah, you, uh, you hear some, like, "Yip! Yip!" That's not a very good, uh, injured dog sound.
01:02:17 Cate No.
01:02:18 GM "Yip, bark, whimper" from the other room.
01:02:21 GM And that's Hazel's turn.
01:02:23 Cate Okay. Do you want to mark that that's difficult
01:02:26 GM Um, I mean, it's just this room.
01:02:28 Cate Yeah. Okay.
01:02:37 Cary I know which one you want.
01:02:41 Hazel Treerton (Cate) Uh, I'm going to shoot at this doggo.
01:02:47 GM Okay.
01:02:48 Hazel Treerton (Cate) Uh, so I'm still using my sub-repeater, so this is with, um...
01:02:53 Cate Dexterity saving throw.
01:02:55 GM Okay. DC 15?
01:02:56 Cate Correct. 15.
01:02:57 GM For you.
01:03:00 GM That's not good. 7?
01:03:04 Cate Yeah. Okay. Uh, so damage twice, plus I get... okay, first, plus 2. I am not going to forget that I get my rage bonus.
01:03:21 Cate And then, I also get an extra d6, or, yeah, 1d6, cuz you're within 5 feet.
01:03:30 GM Yep.
01:03:31 Cate 5.
01:03:33 Cate And then, this is 1d6 plus dex. So, 4, 5, and dex.
01:03:52 Cate Uh, so, 16.
01:03:55 GM 16 damage?
01:03:56 Cate Yeah.
01:04:02 GM That dog looks hurt.
01:04:04 GM Okay, um, it has started leaking, like the other one did.
01:04:07 Cate Okay. As well.
01:04:12 Cate All right, I think that's all the ammo I have in the sub-repeater. So...
01:04:21 Cate ...for my second attack, I can...
01:04:28 Cate ...as object interaction, can I do that as a bonus? So, can I switch...
01:04:32 GM It is- it's its own thing. You get an action, a bonus action, and, oh my god, an object interaction.
01:04:38 Cate Oh my god, okay.
01:04:40 GM Then...
01:04:41 Robin Rolling and stuffing and blue...
01:04:43 Cate Yeah.
01:04:47 Robin Pick it all up! Yeah.
01:04:49 Robin Oh, is she stuck?
01:04:51 Robin Are you getting stuck? Are you getting pulled?
01:04:57 Cate Yeah, so I'm putting my sub-repeater away, and I'm going to pull out tech-blade in one hand and...
01:05:07 Cate ...let's do a, disrupter shiv in the other hand, I guess. Or, no, I'm going to use my vibro-blade.
01:05:15 Robin So, we've got squirrel dual-wielding here.
01:05:17 Cate I am. Is storing...
01:05:19 Robin Is that one or two?
01:05:20 Cate I don't know.
01:05:21 GM I don't know.
01:05:24 Cary Uh, stowing is one, per item. So, if you're dual wielding, it's two.
01:05:33 Cate Hmm. Okay.
01:05:34 Cary I- I have a specific ability that says I can do two in one because of my...
01:05:40 Cary ...rakish audacity.
01:05:43 Cate Is it always rakish audacity?
01:05:45 Robin Every ability is called rakish audacity.
01:05:47 Cary You may use your action or bonus action to do an object interaction.
01:05:50 GM Okay.
01:05:51 Cary And/or.
01:05:52 GM Yes.
01:05:53 Cate Okay.
01:05:54 Cary In this case, it's...
01:05:56 Cary ...a rakish fighting style.
01:05:57 GM Which is just so ready colored.
01:06:00 Cary It is, you can taste it if you want. I would not like.
01:06:04 GM That's a Hefeweizen.
01:06:05 Cate So, I can do...
01:06:07 Cate ...an object interaction to pull out one, my bonus action to pull out a second...
01:06:13 Cary Put one away, pull out a second.
01:06:17 Cate And then use your action to attack.
01:06:19 Cary But, I get a second attack, yeah.
01:06:20 Cate Yeah. That works for me.
01:06:24 Cate Wait, what works for you? So, I have put the thing away and pulled out another thing.
01:06:29 GM Yes, you have one...
01:06:30 Cate Yes.
01:06:31 GM ...one weapon in hand.
01:06:33 Cate Okay. Um...
01:06:37 Cate ...and I'll do my- so I'll pull out the vibro-blade.
01:06:40 GM Okay.
01:06:41 Cate Um, okay. And then I'm going to move...
01:06:47 Cate ...can I just do 5, 10, 15, 20, 25?
01:06:52 GM Uh, sorry, again.
01:06:54 Cate 5, 10, 15, 20, 25.
01:06:55 GM Yep. I can move through people.
01:06:57 GM You may move through allies' spaces.
01:06:59 Cate Yeah. Um, okay, and then I'm going to smack it...
01:07:04 Cate ...with the vibro-blade, which is disarming, is this holding anything?
01:07:09 GM It's a dog.
01:07:10 Cate Does it have a collar?
01:07:12 GM No.
01:07:13 Cate Fine.
01:07:14 GM It is, indeed, a robot dog. It bites things.
01:07:17 Robin Bark bark.
01:07:20 Cary Um, disarming only happens when you roll critical with the vibro-blade.
01:07:25 Cate Ah.
01:07:33 Cate It does if it's no more than one size larger than me.
01:07:37 Cate It succeeds on a strength saving throw?
01:07:41 Cary With- with a critical, you can attempt to disarm it, and it has to succeed a strength saving throw uh with a save of 8 plus your attack bonus.
01:07:53 Cate Yeah. Okay, well, anyway, that's...
01:07:56 Cate ...10. Yeah.
01:08:00 GM End of your turn?
01:08:01 Cate Yeah, I think that's everything.
01:08:02 GM Okay, that dog...
01:08:05 Cary You and I have the same weapons.
01:08:08 Cate Yeah.
01:08:09 Cary It's on a crit. It has to be on a crit.
01:08:10 Cate Where does it say that?
01:08:12 Cary In the rules.
01:08:13 Cate Where in the rules?
01:08:15 Cary The ones that I read.
01:08:17 Cate Well, it didn't say that in the ones I read.
01:08:24 Cate Uh, maybe?
01:08:26 GM It's on the weapon.
01:08:27 Cate It's just on the weapon, yeah. Okay.
01:08:28 GM Uh, fledge is gone.
01:08:30 GM It's your turn again.
01:08:34 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Cool. Um...
01:08:36 Robin I...
01:08:37 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) ...quack.
01:08:38 Cate Quack.
01:08:39 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Quack.
01:08:40 GM In square brackets.
01:08:40 Cate Oh, we just call her Quack.
01:08:44 Robin Um...
01:08:45 Robin ...how many animals are around?
01:08:46 GM Just the one dog we can see in this room.
01:08:49 Robin Okay.
01:08:50 GM And it has not yet reacted to your previous action.
01:08:54 Robin Oh, to the sound trick?
01:08:56 GM Mhm.
01:08:57 GM Oh, because it...
01:08:58 Robin Oh, because it hadn't had a turn.
01:09:00 GM Correct.
01:09:00 Robin But is it my turn again?
01:09:01 GM Because you delayed your turn until after its...
01:09:03 Robin Not for you, not that.
01:09:04 GM ...previous turn.
01:09:05 Robin Got it. Okay. Sorry. Um, does...
01:09:09 Robin ...um...
01:09:10 Robin ...cloud mind...
01:09:12 Robin ...says it can affect creatures within 20 feet of a point that I choose.
01:09:18 Robin Does that include the room, or because there's a wall, does that mean that it is not, it doesn't count?
01:09:25 Cary Um, it might specify in the spell, like, "does not pass through such and such."
01:09:30 Robin I don't think so.
01:09:31 Cary If it doesn't say, then...
01:09:33 Robin It doesn't say.
01:09:34 Robin That's why I was asking.
01:09:35 Robin Cuz I didn't see anything that talked about, like...
01:09:40 Robin My assumption is that, like, all of my spells are just...
01:09:43 Robin ...they just take up a distance, not necessarily, like, are blocked by, cuz like all of my mind things...
01:09:49 GM Yes.
01:09:50 Robin ...are like tricks of...
01:09:52 GM Yeah. Uh, so, creatures within 20 feet of a point you choose.
01:09:54 Robin That's...
01:09:55 GM ...all it is.
01:09:56 Robin Awesome.
01:09:56 GM This is the sleep spell.
01:09:58 Robin Oh, got it.
01:09:59 Robin Yeah.
01:10:00 Robin So, okay. I'm...
01:10:01 Robin ...oh, but that was my other question. Does it affect...
01:10:04 Robin ...us?
01:10:06 GM Yes.
01:10:07 Robin It starts...
01:10:08 Robin ...at everything, cuz that's what I don't understand about...
01:10:10 Cary Everything within that 20 feet.
01:10:11 Cary It starts with the enemies with the lowest hit points, or the people with the lowest hit points, so as long as we have more hit points than the monsters, we won't get hit by it.
01:10:21 Robin But also, you have that ability to...
01:10:23 Cary Since it's a...
01:10:24 Cary ...I'm assuming it's a saving check.
01:10:26 Robin ...I might quite gotten over my pinpoint power.
01:10:28 Cary Is there a saving throw?
01:10:29 GM No.
01:10:29 Cary It auto-happens.
01:10:30 GM Yeah.
01:10:31 Robin I don't know if my pinpoint power allows me to make sure that it doesn't affect...
01:10:35 Cary No, it doesn't, cuz there's no saving throw attached to it.
01:10:38 Robin Pinpoint doesn't have the ones with...
01:10:41 GM Um, I will also highlight to you...
01:10:45 Robin ...that...
01:10:49 Robin Pinpoint power allows you to force other creatures to make a saving throw.
01:10:56 Cate Um...
01:10:57 Cate ...well, if it helps, um, most of the places where you would hit the other dogs, um, the only other like person that could hit is me, and I've got like 59 hit points.
01:11:09 Robin Yes.
01:11:10 Cate So, like, I think you're safe.
01:11:11 Robin And I have 69.
01:11:12 Cate So...
01:11:13 GM This power has no effect on droids or constructs.
01:11:17 GM Constructs is a category that includes robot dogs.
01:11:20 Robin They don't sleep.
01:11:21 GM Okay.
01:11:23 Robin Oh.
01:11:24 Robin Okay.
01:11:25 Robin Damn.
01:11:26 GM Sorry.
01:11:27 Robin This results in me not doing homework again.
01:11:32 Cate Well, part of it is, there's just so many variables.
01:11:35 Robin Yeah.
01:11:37 Cate Yeah.
01:11:38 Cate Like, even if you're familiar with what the spell does, sometimes it affects some things, but not others, or sometimes it doesn't obey those rules.
01:11:43 Robin Um, okay.
01:11:45 Robin Um, what else?
01:11:47 Robin What can I do that's not...
01:11:49 Robin ...like passing my turn off again to like hold up things.
01:11:54 GM Uh...
01:11:56 GM ...what do you mean?
01:11:57 Cary You could walk up and punch it.
01:11:58 Robin Yeah.
01:12:00 Robin Yeah, but I'm defenseless.
01:12:03 Robin Um...
01:12:04 Robin ...can you help other people?
01:12:07 Cary Do we have like a cheap attack spell that doesn't take a lot of force points?
01:12:14 Elayne Most of my spells are pretty cheap. They just have not, um, had, like it was the darkness spell, sound trick, um, and, uh, calm emotions. Calm emotions is't...
01:12:32 Aaron Gesundheit.
01:12:33 Cary Salute.
01:12:34 Elayne Thank you.
01:12:35 Elayne Oh, but I could do that on...
01:12:37 GM Oh, no. It says only humanoids.
01:12:40 Elayne Oh.
01:12:41 Cary Yeah, I think we just need- we need to find you like a basic damage dealing spell.
01:12:45 Aaron Like a fireball. Yeah. Like magic missile or something like that.
01:12:48 Elayne To be clear, like, part of it was also that like I was not focusing on...
01:12:52 Aaron Elayne's not built out her spellbook.
01:12:53 Elayne Yeah. No, but also even with the things that I did find, it was I was not intending to be very useful during battles because I was like, "Oh, I want to do the other stuff outside of battle."
01:13:03 Aaron Yeah.
01:13:04 Elayne That's why I was asking earlier. I was like, "What's the percentage of battle time to non-battle time that we have?" Because I was like, "Am I doing this the wrong way by not focusing on that?" So, um...
01:13:15 GM Cool.
01:13:16 Cary I think, yeah. I think like once you're spending more time finishing out your spellbook, even just having one or two just so you don't feel like you don't have anything...
01:13:24 Elayne Yeah, like I'm not doing anything. Yeah. Um, cool. Well, then, uh, hm.
01:13:37 Aaron You have that Sanctuary. You can cast Sanctuary on...
01:13:40 Elayne That was somebody else's spell. That was, uh, Professor's.
01:13:45 Aaron Mhm.
01:13:45 Elayne Had- I did have... Oh. And I had to eliminate some- Oh, that's why! That's why I'm not seeing all these things, because when my browser rebooted, it only was showing me the first 25 of all of them. Oh.
01:14:01 Elayne Um, okay. Give me one second. I have- I do have rescue, which is potentially helpful.
01:14:09 GM Rescue. We'll find out.
01:14:12 Elayne Pull one willing ally you can see within 30 feet of you to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you. The target must use their reaction to accept the pull. Is anybody in danger?
01:14:24 Cary Must use their what to accept it?
01:14:26 Elayne They must use their reaction.
01:14:27 Cary Okay.
01:14:31 Elayne Is anyone in imminent danger, or is everybody kind of fine?
01:14:36 Cary I'm fine.
01:14:37 Cate Yeah, I'm feeling okay.
01:14:38 Cary Pulled from within 30 feet of you to within 5 feet of you. Sorry, was it behind...
01:14:44 Aaron Uh, do that- do that to me. Pull me to you so that I can be closer to combat.
01:14:49 Elayne I'm by the door, though.
01:14:51 GM You're here.
01:14:51 Elayne Oh, I did come in the room?
01:14:52 GM Yeah, you're here.
01:14:53 Aaron Yeah. And I'm all the way over here. So if you pull me...
01:14:55 Elayne Oh, let me do that.
01:14:56 Aaron Yeah.
01:14:57 Quack (Elayne) [duck noises]
01:14:57 Elayne I pull one willing ally within, yeah.
01:15:01 Elayne Uh, target must use their reaction to accept.
01:15:04 Aaron I'll pull- I'll push even right up against the- the doggy-dog.
01:15:08 GM Yeah.
01:15:08 Aaron The doggy-dog.
01:15:11 GM You do need to do a Dex save.
01:15:14 Aaron I do?
01:15:15 GM Yeah.
01:15:15 Aaron Because I landed in the puddle?
01:15:16 GM Yeah.
01:15:17 Aaron Sure. Fine.
01:15:18 Aaron I- My Dex is plus five. And I'll- I'll roll your ding-dirty Dex save.
01:15:22 Elayne Oh, oh, and I'm going to eliminate the darkness too.
01:15:25 GM Yeah.
01:15:26 Elayne I don't know if that actually...
01:15:27 GM I did it on your previous turn.
01:15:29 Elayne Okay, you did.
01:15:31 Aaron Uh, saving throw, uh, gets a- Does it get proficiency bonus?
01:15:35 GM If you're proficient in it.
01:15:37 Aaron I am proficient in it.
01:15:38 GM Oh.
01:15:39 Aaron Uh, so...
01:15:41 Aaron plus five is 23.
01:15:43 GM Uh, yeah. That succeeds.
01:15:45 GM Okay, that is the turn of two dogs that you don't see. And...
01:17:05 GM ...is surrounded. So it's still going to attack somewhere.
01:18:24 GM Oh, was that... Uh, you also need to make a Dex save, because you're in grease.
01:18:29 Cary Because I'm starting my turn in grease? Okay.
01:18:31 GM Well, no, no, sorry. If you enter it.
01:18:33 Cary Oh, okay.
01:18:34 GM You enter it because you're...
01:18:35 Cary Oh, my other Dex save.
01:19:05 Cary Uh, that would be...
01:19:08 Cary 13 damage plus sneak attack is another five, so 18 total damage.
01:19:16 GM How do you end this mechanical dog?
01:19:22 Cary Uh, so, Elayne pulls me across the room all the way to the thing. I land in the grease puddle and like slide, and get the two hooks in and pull out, and literally just...
01:19:36 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) ...the dog. I dis-leg the dog.
01:19:42 GM Cool.
01:19:47 GM He's in pieces. He's in pieces.
01:19:49 Cary And then I still have movement.
01:19:51 Cary Uh, I'm assuming if I move through this, then I have to make a Dex save.
01:19:55 GM When you enter it and when you end your turn in it.
01:19:58 Cary Ah, so I can walk through this part.
01:20:00 GM Yeah.
01:20:01 Cary Uh, does it count as entering it if I enter a new tile with it?
01:20:10 GM No.
01:20:11 Cary Okay, because I have a thing, I can use it, Tumble, to just instantaneous 10 feet away. One, two, three, four, five. Can I stand in this room?
01:20:23 Cary What do I see?
01:20:26 GM You see the butt of a dog.
01:20:31 Cary Okay, so that's- that's what...
01:20:35 Cary So, it's looking that way?
01:20:37 GM Yeah.
01:20:38 Cary Is there other boxes or anything in here?
01:20:40 GM Yeah, there's nondescript crates.
01:20:44 Cary I- I would like to move and hide behind the crate.
01:20:46 GM Okay.
01:20:47 Cary Wherever there is. I'm just going to...
01:20:49 GM Yeah.
01:20:52 Cary I'm- I'm just going to move there. It's fine.
01:20:55 GM Okay.
01:20:56 Cary And you- uh, roll a hide.
01:20:57 GM Okay.
01:20:57 Cary So we killed that dog?
01:20:58 GM Okay.
01:20:59 Cate Killed the dog, okay.
01:21:00 Cary Killed that dog.
01:21:01 GM Killed that dog.
01:21:02 Aaron Killed that dog and ran after the others.
01:21:11 Cary What do you add to hide, stealth?
01:21:12 GM Correct.
01:21:14 Cary Okay, so that's plus...
01:21:17 GM You should be good at it.
01:21:18 Cary Six plus five is plus 11 is 24 to hide.
01:21:22 GM Okay.
01:21:23 GM Soren, you're up.
01:21:25 GM You are not in immediate danger, unless the grease puddle next to you counts.
01:21:30 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) I will- I will follow my crewmate into more immediate danger.
01:21:38 Robin One, two, three, four, five.
01:21:42 GM Mhm.
01:21:43 Robin You have 40 feet.
01:21:44 Robin What's the- what's it look like? I have 50 feet.
01:21:46 GM So there's a dog, you see a dog butt in the doorway.
01:21:48 Robin There's a dog butt in the doorway.
01:21:50 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Right. I'll...
01:21:51 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) I'll slap the dog butt.
01:21:54 GM Okay.
01:21:56 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Get out of my way.
01:21:59 GM Before you do, give me a D6.
01:22:00 Robin A D6?
01:22:01 GM This is just deciding which dog...
01:22:03 Robin Three.
01:22:04 GM ...but you slap.
01:22:05 GM So that is dog Charlie.
01:22:09 Robin Dog Charlie.
01:22:14 Robin That's only a 12.
01:22:18 GM 12 hits. All right.
01:22:20 Robin Just a squishy little metal dog.
01:22:21 Robin Squishy little metal dog, going to get squished.
01:22:25 Robin That is...
01:22:26 GM Nice.
01:22:27 Robin 14 damage.
01:22:29 GM Okay.
01:22:30 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Let's do it again.
01:22:32 Robin 17.
01:22:36 GM Wow.
01:22:37 Robin That is...
01:22:41 Robin another 14 damage.
01:22:43 GM How do you end this dog's life?
01:22:46 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) I separate it from the dog front.
01:22:51 GM Deep.
01:22:52 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) I'm just trying to make space, and now I'll go further into the room.
01:22:54 GM Okay.
01:22:55 GM That's basically what happened to this dog. Elayne pulled me into a grease puddle, and I...
01:22:59 Robin ...caught the dog on my way down.
01:23:02 Cary And ended up killing it.
01:23:03 GM I'm going to say you...
01:23:04 GM ...can get to there.
01:23:05 Robin Yes.
01:23:06 GM And...
01:23:08 GM We got dog...
01:23:12 GM No, you got...
01:23:14 GM ...two dogs sniffing.
01:23:17 Robin I mean, do they- do they seem poised to fight, after I just... ripped their friend's ass?
01:23:22 GM They will, yeah.
01:23:24 GM They have been investigating where the sound came from.
01:23:26 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) I found more of them!
01:23:28 GM That... created.
01:23:29 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Come on in!
01:23:30 Robin I haven't found a voice yet.
01:23:38 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Come on in!
01:23:40 GM Uh, Professor, you're up.
01:23:50 GM So two of your friends...
01:23:55 Cary Do I- do I see them?
01:23:58 GM Uh, you don't see anything really, but you saw...
01:24:01 GM ...your two friends head that way through those doors.
01:24:04 Cary And this is still greasy?
01:24:05 GM Correct.
01:24:06 Cary If you step in...
01:24:07 Cate Can I climb through the dead body?
01:24:09 GM Uh, yeah, give me an Athletics check.
01:24:10 Cary It's on top of a crate.
01:24:12 GM It's a crate with an unconscious robot and a dead robot dog.
01:24:16 Cary That's a lot of robots to climb over.
01:24:18 GM Let's see what my modifier is for Athletics.
01:24:21 Cate Um, the brain in a jar?
01:24:25 Cary Um, that's a minus one.
01:24:27 GM That's a seven.
01:24:29 GM I say you spend five feet of your movement not getting onto that box.
01:24:35 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Okay, the hover-round, perhaps, is not equipped for that today.
01:24:40 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Um, I...
01:24:42 Cate Your hover-round doesn't hover?
01:25:30 GM Uh, you see a dog butt in this doorway, separated from the dog front.
01:25:36 GM Uh, give me a Perception check.
01:25:40 Cary Nat twenty.
01:25:41 GM Uh, you see, uh, Nul hiding in the corner here.
01:25:44 Cary Oh, he's hiding, hm.
01:25:47 Aaron I'm always hiding.
01:25:48 Robin From that angle, can he see the, the dog inside, now that I have ripped the locking ring in half?
01:25:53 GM Not... he can see this dog butt. He can't see...
01:25:58 Cary Well, I'm going to step to here.
01:25:59 GM Yeah, now you can see there's a dog here.
01:26:01 Cary Okay.
01:26:25 Cary All right. Uh, I'm going to throw a knife at it, a dagger.
01:26:30 Cate How?
01:26:31 Robin Yeah, how does...
01:26:32 Cate How does a brain in a jar throw a knife?
01:26:34 GM The little flap on the front of his thing lifts up and then a knife comes out of it.
01:26:38 Cary I am Way of Telekinetics.
01:26:41 Robin Okay.
01:26:41 Cary And, uh, part of that is I get the powers of Way of Telekinetics. Others is explainability of why I usually have a floating dagger next to me, and can use my little clicky arms that I've got sometimes in my bag.
01:26:53 Robin You know my little grabbers?
01:26:54 GM Yeah, oh yeah.
01:26:56 Cary Um, so with the...
01:26:57 Robin I'm personally offended by them, because I think you're making fun of my arms.
01:27:03 Cate We are kind of a touchy...
01:27:06 Robin I'm a Velociraptor.
01:27:09 Cate You said your little arms, do you have T-rex arms? Do you have wing arms?
01:27:10 Robin Yeah, I mean they're not as bad as T-rex, but...
01:27:13 Cate You've got like wing arms.
01:27:14 Robin I'm a little, a little bit birdy, bird-like.
01:27:16 Cate Oh, bird-like, okay. I misunderstood which dinosaur.
01:27:19 Robin Raptors have big toes.
01:27:20 Cate Okay, sorry.
01:27:21 Robin I've completely, I built my character around it.
01:27:23 Cary So I vibro- I throw the vibro-dagger, telekinetic ring next to me and go...
01:27:30 GM Toward it.
01:27:30 Cary Okay.
01:27:31 GM Attack roll.
01:27:32 Cary That's...
01:27:33 Cate My species is Force-insensitive.
01:27:37 Robin Are you a consul or something?
01:27:39 Cary No, I'm literally a doctor.
01:27:41 GM A surgeon.
01:27:41 Cary Plus four.
01:27:43 Cary That's an eleven.
01:27:45 GM Eleven misses.
01:27:47 Cary Well, I tried.
01:27:48 GM You dink it off the, the hilt of the dagger hits the dog as it's sniffing around.
01:27:54 GM That's what I was trying to look up for you when you were on the train.
01:27:58 Cary Ernie is still asleep. Hazel.
01:28:01 Cate Yeah.
01:28:02 Robin What, what subclass are you?
01:28:04 Cate Consular.
01:28:05 Robin Ah, okay.
01:28:05 Cary Oh, Elaine.
01:28:07 Cate Most don't have subclasses.
01:28:09 Cary Sorry.
01:28:09 Cary I have three monastic traditions.
01:28:12 GM You, there's another thing that is a subclassy thing.
01:28:15 Cate I have not finished building my character.
01:28:17 Robin Let me look at that.
01:28:19 GM That feels important and relevant.
01:28:22 Robin Maybe I just fully missed something, but I did pick three monastic traditions.
01:28:27 GM You get a monastic order at third level.
01:28:29 Robin Monastic order.
01:28:31 GM Detailed at the end of the class description.
01:28:32 Robin Oh, I picked my...
01:28:33 Cary It is Wisdom for light side, Charisma for dark side, or either for universal power.
01:28:40 Robin Oh, this is on a whole different page.
01:28:41 GM Indeed, and none of those are descriptor words.
01:28:43 Cary But I think you get to use both for your...
01:28:45 Robin Okay. Well, I'll be doing this then.
01:28:50 Cate What am I doing now that I'm up here?
01:28:54 GM Second diagonal costs double.
01:28:55 Cate Yeah.
01:28:55 Cary What does your Volgan power do again?
01:28:57 Cary Your Volgan power?
01:28:58 GM Yeah.
01:29:00 Cary You get to use both, right? It's not one or the other.
01:29:02 GM Mhm.
01:29:03 Cary Yeah.
01:29:04 Cary So your modifier is plus five.
01:29:05 Cate I don't know where I wrote it down, though.
01:29:09 Cary Your mod is plus five.
01:29:10 Cate All right, I guess I'm going here.
01:29:12 GM Okay.
01:29:16 Cary Your Force modifier is plus five.
01:29:18 Cary If you get to use both.
01:29:19 Cate Still raging.
01:29:20 Cate So I'm just going to whack it with the...
01:29:24 Cate Well, wait, now I'm going to pull out my techblade. So now, I can use the vibro-blade and the techblade?
01:29:30 GM Yeah.
01:29:31 Cate At the same time. Okay.
01:29:33 GM You don't...
01:29:33 Cate How does that...
01:29:34 Cate I don't add the Dex bonus to the damage for the second one.
01:29:38 GM The offhand one. Okay.
01:29:39 GM And you don't get your Sneak Attack at the moment.
01:29:42 Cate Yeah, I ran out of them anyway.
01:29:44 GM Um...
01:29:45 Cate Are you also offhand?
01:29:47 Cate I am. I have a Splash.
01:29:49 Cary Ah.
01:29:51 Cate Yeah, I get...
01:29:52 GM Oh, you have a limited number with Splash.
01:29:54 Cate That's how they nerf it, okay.
01:29:56 GM Okay.
01:29:57 Cate Anyway.
01:29:58 GM Vibro-dagger...
01:30:00 Cate d8... Oh, whoops.
01:30:02 Cate First, the...
01:30:04 GM We have an explanation.
01:30:06 GM The cohort does not.
01:30:08 GM Maybe it's telekinetic.
01:30:10 GM Have you asked it?
01:30:11 Cate Um, no, because it's a video game.
01:30:12 Cate Well, anyway, eighteen plus whatever my modifier is hits, so, okay.
01:30:17 GM This is Delta Dog.
01:30:20 Robin What's your name again?
01:30:21 Cate Me?
01:30:22 Robin Yeah.
01:30:22 Cate Hazel.
01:30:23 Robin Hazel.
01:30:24 Cate Yep.
01:30:25 Robin Hazel.
01:30:26 GM Alder, Alder.
01:30:45 Cate Uh, so, eight...
01:30:49 Cate Um, I think we have...
01:31:02 Cate So that's twelve...
01:31:13 Cate ...that attack. And then do I have to roll again for the techblade?
01:31:14 GM It's a separate attack.
01:31:16 Cate Okay.
01:31:26 Cate It's okay, we'll, we'll figure it out. Magic Eraser?
01:31:29 GM Yeah, something like that.
01:31:32 Cate Um, okay.
01:31:41 Cate Uh, techblade, right.
01:31:46 Cate That's going to be...
01:31:50 Cate ...thirteen.
01:31:51 GM That hits.
01:31:52 Cate Ooh, okay.
01:31:54 GM They're squishy little metal covered dogs.
01:31:57 Cate So d6...
01:31:59 Cate So, twelve...
01:32:01 Cate ...plus...
01:32:03 Cate ...five, for the first attack, so that's seventeen damage...
01:32:06 GM Okay.
01:32:07 Cate ...for the first one. And then I'm gonna just do it again, I guess.
01:32:13 GM What, I can't do it alone.
01:32:15 Cate Um...
01:32:18 GM That was action, that was... the...
01:32:21 GM ...the offhand attack uses your bonus action.
01:32:23 GM So you have two mainhand attacks and one offhand attack.
01:32:26 Cate Oh, okay, got it.
01:32:53 Cate Um...
01:32:54 Cate ...so that's an additional seven of damage.
01:32:57 GM Okay.
01:33:10 GM Fletch.
01:33:11 GM Does Fletch wake up?
01:33:12 GM No.
01:33:13 GM Okay.
01:33:14 GM Fletch rolls over.
01:33:16 Robin The sirens are blaring on the ship, and Fletch is just like...
01:33:19 Fletcher Morrow (Robin) ..."Ugh, why is this taking so long?"
01:33:23 GM Uh, deal with it, rest of the team.
01:33:25 Cary Your turn.
01:33:26 Robin Seriously, though, get your shit together.
01:33:29 Cary Nul.
01:33:30 Aaron Falls asleep. Yeah.
01:33:38 GM Delta Dog, uh, is going to bite the person in front of her.
01:33:42 GM All right, guys.
01:33:44 GM I'm, I can watch him if you want.
01:33:48 GM I'm going to try a thing. Um...
01:33:50 GM It starts in the same way, though.
01:33:52 GM How does a twenty-one sound?
01:33:54 Cate Yeah.
01:33:56 GM Okay. Um...
01:34:04 GM That is...
01:34:08 GM ...fourteen slashing, halved for you to seven.
01:34:13 GM Seven. Uh, and give me a Strength saving throw.
01:34:16 Cate Okay, well, I get advantage...
01:34:20 Cate ...on those.
01:34:22 GM Yes you do, while raging.
01:34:24 Cate Yeah.
01:34:27 Cate Um, sorry, I was just checking if there were any disadvantage things that you should be doing.
01:34:33 GM These dogs don't get Pack Tactics.
01:34:44 Cate Yeah. Do you want to add a new color?
01:34:49 Cate Fifteen?
01:34:50 GM Fifteen saves. Okay.
01:34:53 GM Um...
01:34:54 GM I'm going to just...
01:34:59 GM ...time-retcon something real quick.
01:35:02 GM Could you please give me a Dex save?
01:35:07 Cate Who?
01:35:08 GM Soren.
01:35:10 Robin Is that pink?
01:35:11 GM Not Soren.
01:35:13 GM So, when you...
01:35:17 GM ...removed the hips of the dog from the rest of the dog...
01:35:20 GM ...um, you triggered something inside of it.
01:35:23 GM That was, "Beep, beep..."
01:35:27 Cate Throw it.
01:35:30 GM Uh, just a small explosion happened, uh, and you...
01:35:35 Cate Because I think you were the only one in this room. Yeah. So we just from the, we see like a cloud of dust come out of, come out the door.
01:35:43 GM Oh, fine.
01:35:45 GM Um...
01:35:46 GM That is...
01:35:49 GM Ten fire damage.
01:35:53 GM Ten fire damage, okay.
01:35:54 GM As the, just like...
01:35:57 GM ...your little arms also, if they were maybe a little bit longer they would have held it farther away from your body, but it just scorches your underside.
01:36:04 Robin Okay.
01:36:06 GM Um, cool.
01:36:07 GM Uh, that's the end of Delta's turn.
01:36:11 GM Now, it's Bravo's turn.
01:36:14 GM Bravo is going to get up on—you—okay, yeah.
01:36:21 Cary Get up on this.
01:36:24 GM Over here. Um, this is going to be a bite against Soren.
01:36:32 GM Soren, how does a twenty-one sound?
01:36:34 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) A twenty-one could hit, yes.
01:36:37 GM Um, oh, I'm going to try this again. Uh, give me a Strength saving throw.
01:36:47 Robin Okay. Um, fourteen.
01:36:54 GM Fourteen saves. Amazing.
01:36:56 GM Um, you still take twelve slashing damage.
01:36:59 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Twelve. Okay.
01:37:03 GM Uh, the save was not regarding the damage.
01:37:06 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Got it.
01:37:08 GM All right. Uh, Nul, you're up.
01:37:10 Nul Konn (Aaron) Hey, uh, while I here—
01:37:13 GM The Professor saw you.
01:37:14 GM The Professor, uh, with his little googly eyes, just looks right at you.
01:37:19 Nul Konn (Aaron) Professor's just like driving past, and I'm staring at the googly eyes as they drive past?
01:37:25 Aaron It is impressive that you saw me. That is truly terrifying.
01:37:30 GM He rolled a nat twenty on a Perception check.
01:37:36 Aaron Nice.
01:37:42 Aaron Look ahead. Can I—how do you feel about me climbing on the walls in here?
01:37:48 Cate I have ibuprofen all around.
01:37:53 Cate I just had some.
01:38:00 GM How do you feel about me climbing on the walls in here?
01:38:08 GM Say more.
01:38:10 Aaron I have a climbing speed. Am I capable of doing that on these walls?
01:38:15 GM Yes.
01:38:18 Aaron I'm going to be on the wall, up five feet, and then like, come around the door. So, that's probably fifteen feet of movement. Yeah?
01:38:28 GM Um, here, on this—
01:38:30 GM So, from here, you climb five feet up?
01:38:33 Aaron Yep.
01:38:34 GM So you're like in the five to ten feet space.
01:38:38 Aaron Okay.
01:38:41 GM And like crawling around, so, five, ten, fifteen, twenty, I would say.
01:38:50 Aaron Okay.
01:39:00 GM Can be there, five feet up.
01:39:02 Aaron Thank you.
01:39:08 Aaron If I'm on the wall here and attacking this dog, and five feet on the wall, am I within five feet of this person?
01:39:20 GM Yes.
01:39:21 Aaron Yes, because it's corner—
01:39:22 GM The edges of your cubes touch, yes.
01:39:25 Aaron Yeah, okay. But I can climb overtop of him because I've got more feet.
01:39:30 Aaron So, I can be—no, I'll still be within five feet of him.
01:39:34 GM Why don't you want to be? That's your friend.
01:39:37 Aaron Uh, I don't need, um, advantage on sneak attacks if I'm not within five feet of a friend, if it's just me and the target.
01:39:50 Cary That's me on the target.
01:39:52 GM If you have a friend who's within five feet of your target, you get sneak attack.
01:39:57 Aaron Oh.
01:40:02 Aaron Advantage is not needed for a sneak attack if I am attacking a target if the target and me are within five feet of each other and there is nothing else within five feet of me, I believe is the way that it's phrased.
01:40:16 GM Yes, so you have that.
01:40:18 GM Aaron is correct is what I'm going to say here.
01:40:23 Aaron Yeah, okay, you got it.
01:40:25 Aaron Okay.
01:40:32 Aaron Oh, no, I'm using.
01:40:38 Aaron Okay. Then when dealing sneak attack damage, so that's not going to fly yet.
01:40:49 Aaron I think—
01:40:55 Aaron I think I'm going to spend one of these then, so that I can get the advantage on this.
01:41:00 Nul Konn (Aaron) So, I'm going to use one of my operative exploits to tumble from where I am.
01:41:03 GM Okay.
01:41:05 Aaron So I don't have to use—
01:41:08 Aaron I get to—I basically get an extra ten feet of movement and it's instantaneous.
01:41:13 Aaron Immediately move ten feet. I make a—an Acrobatics check.
01:41:18 Aaron Oh, this might be, it says contested against Strength or Dexterity, so that might be a way from someone to disengage.
01:41:26 GM If you begin or end this movement within a creature's reach, then you have to do a contested check.
01:41:31 Aaron Oh, but not within—if I'm not within the reach, then it doesn't matter.
01:41:34 GM Yeah.
01:41:38 Aaron Okay.
01:41:39 Aaron Okay, so basically what I'm going to do is—
01:41:42 Aaron Well, it's only ten feet, so I guess I could, ten feet to here.
01:41:48 Aaron And then five feet there?
01:41:50 GM Uh, I mean, you still have ten feet of movement because this, you said this was twenty.
01:41:55 Aaron Five, and so—
01:41:57 Aaron use one of my two tumbles.
01:42:00 GM To get from where you were here up to here is
01:42:09 GM uh, a one and a diag—
01:42:10 GM So, okay, yeah.
01:42:12 Aaron Which I had already used. I had, I've used no diagonals so far.
01:42:17 GM Oh, yeah, okay.
01:42:17 Aaron So, that's ten and then another five to come here.
01:42:21 GM Okay.
01:42:22 Aaron And I still have ten feet of movement.
01:42:23 GM Yeah.
01:42:24 Aaron Basically, crawl up the wall, around the door, dive, and then take a—another step.
01:42:29 GM Yep.
01:42:30 GM You definitely needed to crawl up the wall.
01:42:31 Nul Konn (Aaron) I definitely need to crawl up the wall.
01:42:33 Aaron Um, I don't know what this is. I didn't want to be on that.
01:42:35 GM That's a dead dog.
01:42:37 Aaron Okay.
01:42:38 Nul Konn (Aaron) Crawling over the dead dog, then.
01:42:41 Aaron Um, it's more fun when I'm, when I'm climbing on the walls.
01:42:45 GM Sure.
01:42:46 Aaron Uh, two attacks against this dog then.
01:42:48 GM Okay.
01:42:49 Robin Where am I in the order?
01:42:50 Aaron Uh, first is fifteen—
01:42:52 Aaron twenty-one to hit.
01:42:54 Robin You are—
01:42:55 GM It's Nul, Soren, Professor.
01:42:57 Aaron The first is twenty-one to hit.
01:43:02 GM That hits.
01:43:04 Aaron The first was twenty-one to hit?
01:43:05 GM That hits.
01:43:06 Aaron And the second was fourteen to hit?
01:43:08 GM That hits.
01:43:09 Aaron Okay.
01:43:10 Aaron Um,
01:43:11 Robin So, I thought Soren had just gone, and then—
01:43:14 GM Soren has been figuring out how to go.
01:43:17 Robin Oh, okay.
01:43:18 Aaron Wait, wait, no, so—
01:43:19 Aaron Nul has.
01:43:20 Robin I thought So—
01:43:22 GM Soren got attacked.
01:43:25 Robin Got it. So they, we're dealing with the attack, not having their turn.
01:43:29 GM Yep, got it.
01:43:31 GM And a little bit of held over damage from their turn, that I had not applied immediately.
01:43:38 Aaron So, that's nineteen damage total.
01:43:41 GM Nineteen damage total on Dog Bravo.
01:43:45 Nul Konn (Aaron) Bravo. Bravo.
01:43:55 Cate It's empty. Where'd they all go?
01:43:56 Aaron Five feet away.
01:43:57 Cate Where are they?
01:43:59 GM Soren is up.
01:44:01 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) All right. Well, I'm going to use the new ability that I just gained between turns.
01:44:05 GM Because that's how skills work.
01:44:07 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yes. I'm going to use my bonus action to move into my steel hand form which, first of all, um, every dog in the room, uh, must make a Dexterity saving throw.
01:44:21 GM Uh, what does this look like?
01:44:24 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) I just start wildly wailing on all enemies within ten feet of me.
01:44:31 GM Cool.
01:44:32 GM Uh, Dex save?
01:44:34 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yep.
01:44:36 GM Um,
01:44:37 GM a nine and a twelve.
01:44:43 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Those both fail.
01:44:45 GM Cool.
01:44:45 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) So they both take
01:44:50 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) eighteen damage.
01:44:52 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Ooh.
01:44:53 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) And then I will actually take my turn.
01:44:55 GM Eighteen?
01:44:56 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yep.
01:44:59 GM Uh, how does Dog B, who was right next to you, die?
01:45:04 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Oh, amazing. Um, I
01:45:09 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) hit an—
01:45:10 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) I hit a self-destruct
01:45:11 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) button that causes it to short itself out, and I take the energy coming from it and I gain, I believe,
01:45:21 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) seven temporary hit points
01:45:24 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) as it does.
01:45:25 GM Nice.
01:45:26 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Which is great, because I took some damage.
01:45:29 GM And you, I'm going to say you like flail its body around and
01:45:32 GM its legs fly off, and that's what damages the other dogs.
01:45:36 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yes, amazing.
01:45:38 GM Uh, as you do that,
01:45:41 GM give me
01:45:42 GM a Dex save.
01:45:44 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Okay.
01:45:54 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Eighteen.
01:45:55 GM Saves. Uh, so you will take half.
01:45:58 Robin I'll take half? Um, no, I take zero instead.
01:46:01 GM Uncanny Dodge?
01:46:04 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Not Uncanny Dodge, it's—
01:46:06 GM Evasion?
01:46:07 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) You take zero of five.
01:46:08 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Evasion, I know.
01:46:11 GM Um, cool.
01:46:12 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Now, I attack.
01:46:13 GM Yes, the other dog.
01:46:15 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yes.
01:46:16 GM I assume you just step up into its grill?
01:46:18 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) I do step up into its grill, yes. Okay.
01:46:25 Cate I will have a brat.
01:46:27 Robin Just making sure there's nothing special I should be doing.
01:46:30 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yeah, no, I'm just going to regular attack.
01:46:32 GM More of a brat person.
01:46:35 Robin Ooh.
01:46:36 Robin That's only an eleven.
01:46:39 GM To hit?
01:46:39 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yeah.
01:46:40 GM Misses.
01:46:41 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) You know what, I'll, no, I can't, I have to call the perform.
01:46:44 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) But, I will attack again, because, why not.
01:46:49 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Twenty-three to hit.
01:46:50 GM That hits a little.
01:46:54 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Um,
01:46:55 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) eleven damage.
01:46:58 GM Okay.
01:46:59 GM I will look.
01:47:01 GM It is on deactivation's door.
01:47:04 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Okay.
01:47:05 GM You think a strong wind would kill this dog.
01:47:09 Hazel Treerton (Cate) No, no!
01:47:10 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Anybody got a strong wind around?
01:47:12 Cate Darkness, can I go punch it?
01:47:14 GM You could punch it.
01:47:15 Robin You can punch it.
01:47:16 Cate I don't think I'm anywhere near it.
01:47:18 GM I mean, you're still sleeping, so—
01:47:20 Cate I mean, you chose to sleep. We could
01:47:22 GM wake you up, say that you moved on your last turn.
01:47:26 Cate Cool.
01:47:27 Cate What's your speed?
01:47:29 Cate Thirty.
01:47:31 GM Is Quack—
01:47:35 Cate Connor.
01:47:38 Cate Yes, Connor's on the couch.
01:47:42 Aaron Oh, but, you could have sprinted.
01:47:45 Cate Yeah, oh, that's my turn.
01:47:46 GM I don't want to scare Connor.
01:47:48 Cary Yeah.
01:47:49 Cary You can get there.
01:47:50 Cate Go scare Connor.
01:47:52 Cary Go scare Connor.
01:47:53 Cate Go scare Connor.
01:47:54 Cate Connor wants to be scared. He wants to be scared. Go scare him.
01:47:57 Cate No.
01:47:59 Aaron No.
01:48:01 Cate You want to scare Mama?
01:48:04 GM Soren's done?
01:48:05 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Yes.
01:48:06 GM Professor's up.
01:48:08 Cary Okay, um, what is the
01:48:11 Cary the room look like?
01:48:13 Aaron room that you're in?
01:48:14 GM Yes.
01:48:15 GM Um, there are a couple nondescript crates in this room.
01:48:18 GM Otherwise it's pretty empty.
01:48:21 Nul Konn (Aaron) Where are the crates?
01:48:23 GM They are here and here.
01:48:33 Nul Konn (Aaron) Okay. I'm going to—
01:48:40 Cate I had to put the crayons away. Do not hand them back to the child.
01:48:44 GM There's a small thing under the handle in the bathroom, I got it like 98% clean.
01:48:51 Aaron What size is the dog?
01:48:54 GM It is medium, mechanically.
01:48:56 Nul Konn (Aaron) Okay, I'm going to force throw the dog into the corner crate.
01:49:03 GM Okay.
01:49:07 GM So you're here in this room. This room also has just a couple crates.
01:49:13 Nul Konn (Aaron) Yeah, into that corner crate.
01:49:18 Nul Konn (Aaron) Okay. So yeah, throw him into the crate.
01:49:22 GM What does that do?
01:49:23 Aaron Both the crate and the dog take 2d8 force damage.
01:49:32 GM No save or anything?
01:49:34 Aaron There is a save. It has to make a strength saving throw on a DC 15.
01:49:40 GM That is a 6. All right. Almost a 22.
01:49:46 Aaron So my brain vibrates a little bit and you see the dog kind of go "uh" and then, right in the corner, smash, smashing into the crate.
01:49:55 Aaron Dealing 2d8 damage to both. Unless it destroyed—
01:49:59 GM Okay. I'll say that the crate is destroyed.
01:50:05 Aaron That is eight, eight damage.
01:50:08 GM Eight damage to this dog that could have been killed by a stiff wind. And, it is dead.
01:50:13 Aaron Yeah, that was a much cooler way to do it.
01:50:17 GM That was kind of a wind.
01:50:19 GM Eight damage you said?
01:50:20 Aaron Yeah, eight damage.
01:50:40 GM It does not destroy the crate.
01:50:46 GM So, Soren...
01:50:52 GM Soren's going to need to do a dex save.
01:50:57 GM I'm going to do a force throw because the—
01:51:02 GM Yeah, they succeed. It was a DC 12 so they would take half but they take none.
01:51:08 GM I will roll a save for you quite well and take half, so you take none.
01:51:17 GM From the professor exploding a dog next to you.
01:51:20 Cate Oh, that's...
01:51:23 Aaron I picked him up with my brain, threw him into the crate.
01:51:26 GM I picked him up with my strong brain.
01:51:29 GM And with that, we're out of combat.
01:51:34 Cate Are you doing an Old Gregg voice for your character? No.
01:51:41 GM You did 420 total damage to take out those five creatures.
01:51:46 Cate 400?
01:51:47 GM 420.
01:51:48 Cate Nice.
01:51:49 Robin Blaze it.
01:51:51 GM Cool.
01:51:53 GM So, I'll say the professor moves in here just so that you are all in this room. Fledge, do you want to wake up for roleplay? No.
01:52:09 GM The alarms on the, on the parent ship finally died down and he rolls over and goes back to sleep.
01:52:17 Cate Finally! How many rounds of combat was that? God.
01:52:20 Elayne Like either you're all dead or you finished the enemies. Either way, don't care.
01:52:27 Cary The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey is now at 17 remaining force points.
01:52:33 GM Can we look in the boxes?
01:52:34 GM Yes.
01:52:36 Cary 29 hit points.
01:52:37 Cate I would love if there were like a little grenade thing that you can plant on these boxes, just saying.
01:52:45 GM Grenade things you can plant on people?
01:52:46 Cate Yeah, sticky grenades.
01:52:47 GM Yeah, they have those. I have some.
01:52:49 Cate Oh, spit that out. Spit that out, now. Come here. Spit it out.
01:52:55 Cate Out. Spit. Spit. Spit it out. Oh, that's bread, you can eat that.
01:53:02 Cate That's not actually cat food. Well, I know, but I didn't want him—
01:53:09 Cate You made me spit it out, I don't want it anymore. It's yours now, Mom.
01:53:20 Cate Okay. I am not the only person who thought he had just eaten cat food, right? Like...
01:53:25 Elayne Well, I knew there was cat food in there but I didn't know what he had eaten.
01:53:28 GM Yeah, I thought it was a die.
01:53:30 Elayne Yeah, that's what I thought, too.
01:53:32 Cate No bananas.
01:53:35 Cate No apples.
01:53:44 Cate No bananas.
01:53:48 Cate Yes, I have a banana. Do you want a banana?
01:53:52 Cate You want a banana?
01:53:56 Cate Want a banana?
01:53:57 GM So...
01:53:59 GM You are now in—
01:54:02 GM Yes, you are now looting.
01:54:06 GM I did not make a list of anything, so...
01:54:10 GM Anyone who wants to investigate these crates, give me investigation checks.
01:54:18 Cate I also have— I have, um— I have insight or, I have...
01:54:23 Cate Yes, I have insight.
01:54:25 Cary I leave, I leave that work to the more accomplished individuals who have investigation.
01:54:31 Aaron I rolled a 7, which brings me to a 6 with my intelligence.
01:54:34 Robin I also got a 6 by getting a 5 plus one.
01:54:40 GM Is nobody here an intelligence-based character?
01:54:42 Aaron Nope.
01:54:43 Cate Not that much, no.
01:54:44 GM You're charisma-based, right?
01:54:45 Cary I think Elayne is charisma and, and wisdom.
01:54:49 Elayne Um, but she has a plus one to intelligence, which might be the winner.
01:54:53 Elayne 13 total—or, sorry, 13 plus one on intelligence.
01:54:58 GM So, 14?
01:54:59 Elayne Yeah.
01:55:00 GM Did you roll investigation?
01:55:02 Elayne I didn't roll anything.
01:55:03 GM Roll a die.
01:55:05 Elayne Okay.
01:55:06 GM And then you do the plus one to it.
01:55:13 Elayne I have four.
01:55:14 Cate I got a five.
01:55:16 Elayne Suck so bad at our jobs, apparently.
01:55:20 Cary This is very explicitly not my job.
01:55:23 Cate I got a 16 and it's intelligence. 16 on the die plus one, yeah, 17.
01:55:28 GM All right. So...
01:55:30 GM Everyone else is just walking around, like rattling crates, like—
01:55:37 Cate Like, what do you mean it's not still dark in here?
01:55:39 GM Doesn't seem interesting.
01:55:41 GM But Hazel's going around, tapping at each of the crates, um, and with much frustration, uh, finds one that doesn't match the others, um, with a script that you don't recognize. Um, and it's made out of a metal that doesn't like— It reacts in strange ways. It seems super light.
01:56:10 Cate Wait, can I use a power to like find more, find out more about it? Can I use like a, like a power, spell. Can I use a spell to find out more? Sure.
01:56:21 Cate I have, uh, does it have a mind?
01:56:28 GM It's a crate.
01:56:31 Cate That does not answer my question. Does the box have a mind? This is a fishbowl and it's got a brain.
01:56:39 GM Uh, no, it does not.
01:56:44 Cate I do have a, a...
01:56:52 GM I mean, it could be fun that you're all just kind of influential dumb-dumbs.
01:57:02 Cate I want to see if my, I want to see if comprehend speech would let me read this language that you're saying nobody can.
01:57:09 GM Sure.
01:57:10 Cate Because I do have, um, not only do I have comprehend speech as a spell, but I also think I have like a, like one of my affinities is to like understand things. I don't know, I thought I remembered seeing something about like, I should be able to... Let's just go there first. Comprehend speech, does that count for...
01:57:33 GM I'm reading it.
01:57:39 GM There's a tech power called translation program.
01:57:42 Cate Okay.
01:57:44 Cate Got it. Okay, well, then anyways, please continue.
01:57:50 GM Uh, so, you find this one notable. Um, it is like fastened together.
01:57:56 GM Um, so it's not like you could just like open it right here and right now. But, this seems like maybe one you want to set aside differently than the rest of these. Um, but otherwise, uh, most of these seem like pretty basic storage, um, containers.
01:58:15 GM And then, um...
01:58:23 GM as you...
01:58:33 GM I mean, this is actually a big step for both of them, because Aaron just lets him be Donald Duck.
01:58:46 GM Okay. So, it is just different, we don't know why, I can't read it.
01:58:50 Cate Is computer's a skill?
01:58:52 Cate In this?
01:58:54 GM Yeah, I don't think so.
01:58:57 Cate Um, technology.
01:58:59 GM Yeah.
01:59:00 GM Uh, yes. Anyone who wants can also give me a technology check.
01:59:03 Cate Why not? See if this works goes better than, 12.
01:59:11 GM Technology.
01:59:13 Robin 16.
01:59:14 Cary 19 minus 3.
01:59:18 GM Minus three. Minus 7. No, so minus 2.
01:59:21 GM Yeah, I was about to say I don't think you can get to a minus 3. How, how do you even have a 7? I thought you couldn't point buy—
01:59:26 Cary I'm not allowed to go below 8?
01:59:28 GM I think 8 is the lowest.
01:59:29 Cate 8 is the lowest.
01:59:30 GM And, you start at 8 across the board with point buy.
01:59:34 Cary Okay. Then, I will— I'll make a slight adjustment. Okay.
01:59:40 GM So then, it's just—
01:59:42 Cate Oh, it might just be the, the joints. Is it all the way cracked or...
01:59:47 Elayne I had glued them, so it might just be like the glue releasing. Yeah.
01:59:52 Aaron Oh, I was the first one to break one of these chairs, don't worry.
01:59:56 Elayne Well, now I don't feel so, quite so terrible about it.
02:00:00 Cate Oh, yeah. I literally have been looking at metal-framed chairs on Facebook specifically for this reason.
02:00:08 Elayne I just glue them back together.
02:00:11 Cate We've been doing that for so many years.
02:00:14 Aaron We were doing that, gluing them, and then, like, the old ones that had the, like, the wicker and pegs. And then we bought the, like, ones we have now, which were very expensive, at...
02:00:24 Cate Crate & Barrel, or whatever?
02:00:26 Aaron Yeah. One of those. But they're nice.
02:00:27 Cate Yeah.
02:00:28 GM Okay.
02:00:29 Robin Anyone get, uh...
02:00:30 Cary I was in the restroom with the baby. What is happening?
02:00:33 GM Uh, do a Tech check.
02:00:35 Cary What is a Tech check?
02:00:36 GM Tech is a skill.
02:00:37 Cary Where is our Tech...
02:00:38 Cate Under Intelligence, I believe.
02:00:44 Robin It's under Intelligence: Technology.
02:00:47 Cary I'm exceptionally experienced with technology.
02:00:50 Robin So you will roll a 20-sided die.
02:00:51 Cary And then...
02:00:52 Robin eight.
02:00:53 Cary Ten.
02:00:54 GM Uh, there's a bunch of computers in the bridge.
02:00:56 Cary Oh, computers.
02:00:57 Cate Oh, that's a eight.
02:00:58 Robin Just so you have it for all future things: when Nate asks you to do a check, you're going to find the appropriate skill and then you'll roll a 20-sided die. If you have this colored in, you'll add three. If you don't have it colored in, it's six. And then you add that. I got an 11.
02:01:17 GM 18.
02:01:18 Cate Yes.
02:01:19 GM Okay. So you got 14?
02:01:22 Cate Okay. I got an 11.
02:01:25 GM Okay.
02:01:26 GM Um, so Soren and Hazel walk in and find, uh, that the comm—this was not the destination for this ship. It was pointed somewhere else, but you can't figure out what the destination was. You find that the destination was an uncharted—maybe not uncharted—a corner of the galaxy that has not been explored in detail.
02:01:54 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Would you say that it is far, far away?
02:01:57 GM No. It's out of the way. Um, but it's still in the galaxy. It can't be far, far away if it's still in the galaxy. Um, and, uh, there's really nothing around it. So it's like, well, why would a cargo ship be going someplace where there's nothing? Like, sure, like maybe an exploration vessel would, but like, they've got a whole bunch of stuff in the back, like...
02:02:22 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Does it seem like they might have been trying to get out of the galaxy, or were they genuinely trying to reach this really remote outpost?
02:02:30 GM Uh, well, your priors are that you can't travel outside of the galaxy. But at the holo-probate for Captain Gordon, you, uh, got documents that you've only started to investigate in detail, but that point to possible ways to travel outside the galaxy.
02:02:54 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) The Treasure Planet technology could be not just intra-galactic; it could be inter-galactic.
02:03:00 GM Also, um, I'll say with your Tech check, as you look at the dogs and the thingy a bit more, um, this is not technology you're familiar with. Like, yes, there are, um, automatons in your world, but they're, like, much more gears and...
02:03:27 Aaron Sprockets?
02:03:28 GM Yeah, gears and sprockets and those sorts of things. These are, like, advanced versions of the same technology—or same implementation. Servos are, like, a fanciful thing, or like something at a ship scale, but not like a dog automaton scale. Um, their, uh, their lubricants are non-oil based. Like, it's all the same things, but just a little different off.
02:03:59 Hazel Treerton (Cate) I'm not certain this ship is from here.
02:04:05 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) I mean, it's a cargo ship. It wouldn't be from here.
02:04:09 Hazel Treerton (Cate) No, I mean, really not from here.
02:04:13 Soren Swiftscale (Robin) Like, you not from here?
02:04:15 Hazel Treerton (Cate) I mean, it's nothing I recognize. But, yes.
02:04:20 Robin Uh, is this the entirety of the ship?
02:04:23 GM Yes. So, there's the big cargo hold, there's these smaller things that you could imagine like maybe if you need some temperature control or...
02:04:29 Robin Yeah.
02:04:30 GM Or, like, higher security. These are additional storage spaces, and like, uh, could be like a mess, uh, and then the bridge.
02:04:38 Robin Okay. Can we see how...
02:04:41 Robin Sorry. Did Soren...
02:04:45 Cary Is that just what Soren learned, or did we all learn?
02:04:48 GM No, uh, you learned less detail. You, you could see, yeah. You could see that the ship was not headed—the ship was headed somewhere other than here and then, like, it ran into a rock here and that's why it's here. It wasn't trying to come here.
02:05:08 Robin Mm.
02:05:09 Nul Konn (Aaron) Well, we're here to move the crates. You guys can figure that out. I'm going to start moving crates.
02:05:15 GM Cool.
02:05:15 Cate Okay. Can we tell how this is powered?
02:05:19 GM That's...
02:05:20 Cate That's a little thing, right? But we're trying to figure out these power sources.
02:05:24 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Yeah, can we locate the bridge?
02:05:28 GM Uh, yeah. So, this is the bridge.
02:05:30 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Oh, we're on—we're on the bridge. Okay.
02:05:32 GM Fully forward. So, yeah. That's where you were looking at the comm and seeing, like, the heading.
02:05:38 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Uh, is there a captain's log or a black box that we can retrieve?
02:05:46 GM Uh, yes. Do you—I'm just going to look up. Give me, so, yes, you find, you find, like, a hardcopy log. Okay. Um, give me a Sleight of Hand check to extract it.
02:06:05 Cate I'm very good at that, if you want.
02:06:08 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Um, yeah. Uh, I will give you the help action, then.
02:06:12 Cate Oh, cool. Okay.
02:06:14 GM That just gives you, um, advantage, correct?
02:06:16 Cate Yep. Okay.
02:06:19 Cate Well, my first one was 29.
02:06:23 GM Nice.
02:06:24 Cate And my second one is 15.
02:06:26 Robin Take the 29. Yeah.
02:06:28 GM Uh, yeah, so you extract this—essentially a hard drive, um, from the console. Um, and it's familiar, like, it's a standard data transfer device. It's not like that's out of this world.
02:06:42 Cate Okay.
02:06:46 Robin You guys are doing things. I'm getting work done.
02:06:49 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) All right. Well, let's take what we came here for.
02:06:53 Hazel Treerton (Cate) Yep.
02:06:55 GM Cool. Um, so yeah, you take an inventory. Um, Nul, I'm going to say give me a Dexterity saving throw.
02:07:11 Aaron Well, as Nul is exploding...
02:07:16 Cary Can we check against the manifest to make sure, like, see what's listed versus what's here?
02:07:19 Aaron 18.
02:07:21 GM 18. You succeed, and would take half damage but...
02:07:25 Aaron That's zero damage. Okay.
02:07:26 GM Uh, as you're rummaging, like, moving things around the dead big guy, he also explodes. Just, but just like...
02:07:36 Cate That's what?
02:07:37 GM It's like a bulb...
02:07:38 Aaron Doesn't...
02:07:39 GM Yeah. Whoof!
02:07:40 Cate Yet again, we just see a little puff of dust. Turtle dust.
02:07:47 GM Turtle dust.
02:07:48 Aaron Was it Nul?
02:07:50 GM No, it was Nul.
02:07:53 Cate You—are you plugging this data—how are you, tell me what you're doing with the manifest.
02:08:01 Cate Yeah, I think it's a good idea to compare what's listed to the crates that are here. So, like, I'll just, as Nul is moving them in, I'll just check them off.
02:08:14 GM So, there's no physical inventory list, but you can imagine that the hard drive you pulled has that.
02:08:20 Cate Okay. So, I'll—I'm imagining it's like one of those old blocky things, and I just, like, plug it in into the computer, so it displays or whatever. And so, I check them off.
02:08:28 GM Okay. Yeah, you can find the manifest. Um, it all lines up with what you would expect, except there's one extra box.
02:08:37 Hazel Treerton (Cate) Hmm. That's weird.
02:08:38 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) My box. It's my box.
02:08:41 Aaron We're talking about my box?
02:08:43 Hazel Treerton (Cate) My box.
02:08:44 GM Maybe.
02:08:46 Robin Connor's box.
02:08:47 Cate Um, and...
02:08:49 Cate Also, cuz no one here is interested in my box.
02:08:56 Cary Ouch!
02:08:57 Robin There is evidence of, of interest.
02:09:01 Cate Presumed.
02:09:03 GM Ooh.
02:09:06 Cate Someone had interest.
02:09:08 Robin That's true. Yeah.
02:09:10 Cary Or someone had a turkey baster.
02:09:12 Robin Except for the fact that Alder looks incredibly...
02:09:14 Cate Yeah, right.
02:09:16 Cary There's no doubt about that.
02:09:19 Robin Like, that is definitely, like, we don't need the DNA test.
02:09:23 Cate Yeah.
02:09:24 Cary Those entities' genes are strong.
02:09:27 Aaron But can we, uh, confirm that Elayne is the mother?
02:09:30 Cate I don't know.
02:09:32 Elayne I did not see it leave my body. There would've been only one watch.
02:09:35 Robin There was a baby inside of you, and then there was...
02:09:37 Cate Yeah, they put up a tarp. It's a sterile shield.
02:09:40 Elayne Yeah, yeah. Okay.
02:09:41 Cate I specifically asked.
02:09:43 GM They were like, "No."
02:09:44 Elayne Yeah. I don't think they'd let him watch either. Actually.
02:09:47 Cate Oh, strange. No, thank you.
02:09:49 Robin They want you on the other side of the thing.
02:09:51 Aaron My dad got to see.
02:09:53 Robin Me get extricated?
02:09:56 Cate I don't want to see that process.
02:09:58 Aaron I watched my own mirror.
02:10:00 Cate I mean, we all did.
02:10:01 Robin Ah.
02:10:02 Cate Not very well.
02:10:03 Robin Yeah. Yeah.
02:10:04 Cate You might've had your eyes closed the whole time.
02:10:06 Aaron Yeah, probably had your eyes closed.
02:10:07 Cate For a lot of it. Yeah.
02:10:08 Robin Eew.
02:10:10 The Reverend Doctor Professor Archibald Grey (Cary) Well, let's take everything back to the ship, and then figure out how to open this extra.
02:10:15 GM Cool.
02:10:16 GM Um, I'm going to take a quick bio break.
02:10:19 Cary Absolutely not.
02:10:21 GM Does anybody want...
02:10:23 GM Are you staying where you're at, or are you starting to chart a course?
02:10:27 Cary I think, given the propensity of things on this ship to explode...
02:10:31 Robin We should depart.
02:10:34 GM Um, then someone is going to need to...
02:10:38 Cary die!
02:10:40 Robin Whoa!
02:10:42 GM Someone's going to need to do...
02:10:44 Robin Bleed out of your eardrum?
02:10:45 GM astronavigation.
02:10:47 GM And since Ernie is asleep, this might be a challenge.
02:10:50 Robin Mm.
02:10:51 Cary Yeah, it's—yeah. I do not think about how this room just retains...
02:10:55 Cate Yeah, so much heat.
02:10:56 Robin You could just strip the top down if you want, it's...
02:10:59 Cate Just...
02:11:00 Robin Just tits out. Yep.
02:11:03 GM Figure out how you do your astronavigation equations. If you need more information on that, we can roll.
02:11:07 Aaron Can we take 20?
02:11:09 Cary Huh?
02:11:10 Aaron Didn't you say last game that we could take 20?
02:11:11 Cate Could I just text Casey and ask him to roll a D20?
02:11:13 GM Yes. Okay. Yeah, sure.
02:11:16 Aaron I thought you said we could do it by hand and it just takes ten minutes.
02:11:18 GM Yes, it does. Okay. I just want to know how long it takes you if...
02:11:23 Cary Does anybody want dessert while we are...
02:11:26 Robin adjourned? Breaking?
02:11:27 Cate Yeah. Sure. Okay.
02:11:31 Cary We have dessert: strawberry ice cream.
02:11:35 Robin Oh, the ice cream you made last night? Oh, wow.
02:11:37 Cate Anybody not want some?
02:11:40 Robin Okay. I want a very small amount.
02:11:42 Cate Okay. I want like three mouthfuls.
02:11:45 Cate Okay.
02:11:48 Cary I missed what you said the dessert was.
02:11:50 Robin Strawberry ice cream. Strawberry ice cream.
02:11:52 Cate Ah, we also have chocolate-covered blueberries.
02:11:53 Robin Oh, sure. To top your ice cream.
02:11:57 Cary So, what was the surprising about the texture of the chocolate-covered blueberries?
02:12:01 Robin It was just, like, very soft inside. That I was not expecting.
02:12:05 Cate Like a ripe blueberry?
02:12:06 Robin Yeah.
02:12:07 Cate But, like, very soft. Like...
02:12:09 Robin You had an extra-ripe blueberry.
02:12:10 Robin Yeah, like, like a very extra-ripe blueberry. Okay.
02:12:14 Robin Yeah, Kate, I think this...
02:12:16 Robin slide all the way in.
02:12:17 Cate It's robust.
02:12:18 Cate Maybe you don't want to be sitting on that.
02:12:20 Aaron Oh, there's that chair over there.
02:12:22 Cate Yeah, I'm just going to sit on this other chair. Well, it, no, it was, she, it was like that. It was like falling, so just wanted to make it worse.
02:12:34 Robin I'm sure we all keep breaking your chairs.
02:12:37 Cate They're not that, well, the structure did and that portion of it. I don't know that there's anything
02:12:42 Robin It feels like a very frustrating thing to have to discover after buying chairs.
02:12:47 Cate Yeah, I don't want to victim blame your furniture.
02:12:53 Elayne Well, and we discovered it like, it didn't happen for a long time, and so it's not like you can be like, well, I'm returning these now.
02:13:01 Cate Yeah, it happened to all of them.
02:13:05 Elayne Yeah.
02:13:09 Cate Yeah, I've been specifically looking at metal framed kitchen chairs, specifically so that our next set of kitchen chairs will not have that opportunity for error. But all of the kitchen chairs I keep finding are like very, very '80s does the '50s, you know? So like, yeah, it's a, it's a vibe.
02:13:46 Robin Is that our dishwasher? Or what?
02:13:49 Cate Okay, Aaron.
02:13:56 Robin You want me to go through this with you? Or, actually, what is after I get through all of these like He's just, you know, adding on to my powers.
02:14:04 Aaron Yes, okay. Do I have to, do I do something? This is what we were already doing. Um, the one thing that we didn't do is I didn't, did you already add in the, did you have any race traits? Did you get like a plus one or a plus two for your race?
02:14:19 Robin Is that the same as species?
02:14:21 Aaron Yes, Diathim.
02:14:23 Robin Yeah.
02:14:24 Aaron What is the Diathim race trait?
02:14:25 Robin Well, I couldn't figure out how to incorporate that into my stuff.
02:14:46 Robin Eat?
02:14:48 Elayne I'm going dada.
02:14:50 Robin Yeah, you hanging out with dada? Mama, is mama here now?
02:14:52 Aaron Ability score increase: your charisma score increases by two and wisdom increases by one.
02:14:59 Robin No.
02:15:00 Aaron Uh, your charisma increases by two. So this goes up to 18.
02:15:04 Robin Did that already? What's my charisma?
02:15:06 Aaron No, that is a plus two based off of, I'm saying your 16 goes up to 18.
02:15:10 Robin Oh, which turns my plus three into a plus four.
02:15:13 Aaron Mm-hmm, and your wisdom goes up to 15, which, what's, plus thingy changed?
02:15:24 Robin No.
02:15:25 Aaron Um, if you were to, in your character building, decrease dexterity or strength, if you drop this down to like a nine you could make that a 16 and it would be a plus three.
02:15:35 Robin Okay.
02:15:37 Aaron Um, you're six to nine feet tall. Wow.
02:15:42 Robin Yeah, that's why I said, there was like, oh, you're a little one. And I was like, I'm quite large.
02:15:48 Aaron Yes, thick stock, yeah. Enthralling Hypnosis: you can use psychic aura to influence individuals of both sexes. When you roll a one on a Charisma check, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll. So
02:16:02 Robin What is that?
02:16:03 Aaron Um, when you roll a one on a Charisma check for Persuasion.
02:16:07 Robin Yeah.
02:16:10 Aaron Okay. What do we have? You think stock flow. Um, do you have standard species speed? Your speed is, your base speed is 30.
02:16:21 Robin You're tall, you are very tall.
02:16:24 Aaron What?
02:16:28 Robin I would just
02:16:31 Aaron and say um, if you roll a one on persuasion
02:16:39 Robin I assume top priority was
02:16:41 Aaron You can reroll the die.
02:16:42 Robin Uh, I think it is, yeah. Okay.
02:16:44 Aaron And then
02:16:45 Robin For free?
02:16:46 Aaron For free. No, and limited uses.
02:16:49 Robin Or some other
02:16:50 Aaron No expenses.
02:16:51 Robin He has proficiency.
02:16:52 Aaron Um, once per long rest, you can treat a d20 roll of nine or lower on a charisma check as 10.
02:17:03 Robin Oh, that's
02:17:04 Aaron That's a lot for, yeah, that's fine. You do have a flight speed, it's equal to half your walking speed. So, your flight speed is, that's over here under speed, there should be a flight speed of 15. So you could just fly.
02:17:18 Robin I can flight.
02:17:19 Aaron Yeah. Um, Fragile: you are too weak to pack much of a punch. You have disadvantage on Strength saving throws, and when determining your bonus to attack and damage rolls. So if you were to walk up and try and punch someone, you would be at disadvantage.
02:17:36 Robin Yeah.
02:17:37 Aaron Um, starting at third level, you can use your action to amplify your radiant aura causing searing light for
